This event began 03/08/19 and repeats every day forever

Quantified Tree Risk Assessment are hosting this tried and tested Tree Anatomy workshop that has been delivered by Mark Hartley and his colleagues for several years in both Australia and the United States.

The workshop follows a format that was developed by Dr Alex Shigo in the 1980s and which brought an improved understanding of the inner workings of the tree to arboricultural practitioners. Using microscopy, we will take a three-dimensional look at the arrangement of tree cells and tissues and discuss the implications of our observations in terms of tree health and structure, which can inform the ways that we manage trees and their environments.

In March 2018, we ran this workshop in Sydney, New South Wales and after tax we were able to donate all profits of over $6000 to Arboriculture Australia, which was unanimously nominated by the workshop delegates. All profits from the Cardiff workshop will be donated to the important research into wood decay by Professor Lynne Boddy and her team at Cardiff School of Biosciences. Professor Boddy, who has been advancing our understanding of fungi in trees for more than 30 years, will be delivering a bonus lecture on the topic of fungal colonization of standing trees.

The delegate rate is £650 +vat. Download the workshop flyer at https://tinyurl.com/y3nzo6w7. Or make a booking at https://tinyurl.com/y3w3ukyo.
