  1. PLS Group UK currently have permanent vacancies for Utility Arborists/team leaders working in the North Yorkshire and north east area. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, experienced climber with positive attitude. Utility arb experience is desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will be working on Northern PowerGrid Sites in the North Yorkshire area on sites within an 1-1.5hr drive from our Catterick base. Essential requirements: · Self-motivation and positive attitude · Ability to operate electronic devices such as IPAD · Full UK driving licence (preferably no penalty points) with 3.5 ton towing provision. · NPTC chainsaw and climbing (list in more detail) · NPTC manually fed wood chipper Desirable requirements: · NPTC utility arb units, UA1, UA2.1/2/3 · NPTC operate MEWP · NPTC operate chainsaw from MEWP · Live line cutting experience (L.V.) · CSCS · SSSTS · IRATA level 1 Training: Any relevant qualifications are welcome, but any specific training will be provided. Work location: PLS Group UK are based near Colburn, Catterick Garrison , North Yorkshire approximately 5 minutes from the A1. All teams usually start and finish in the yard. However, Utility arb operations may work remotely. There may be the odd time when teams are asked to work away. (Digs and subsistence paid) Working hours: 7:00AM – 17.00PM Monday to Friday with work available most weekends. Working as part of a team, you will undertake vegetation management on an 8 year contract managing vegetation along 400KV overhead Pylon transmission network throughout England and Wales. You will carry out tree surgery and arboricultural maintenance operations at various sites in a safe and compliant manner. Working to contract specifications, agreed schedules and in accordance with company and statutory standards, you will carry out a range of duties ensuring day-to-day problems are dealt with and problems solved. To succeed in this role you should have the following: Previous experience in an arboricultural role. Previous experience in the safe operation of a broad range of powered machinery.
