Morning all, I'm looking to get an alpine tractor and timber trailer to allow us to start extracting from a few small woodland sites in Buckinghamshire. It's all very small scale work (<50t a year) on SSSI sites which means we're limited to low impact kit and access only during dry periods. I'm looking at the AGT850TR and COT30-470 3t timber trailer combination at the moment, from Riko. But I am new to forestry work and was hoping to get some advice! I was thinking of putting 300/65-12 tyres on the trailer along with a crane winch and band tracks as we're on heavy clay and anything to spread the weight will be useful! Anyone's thoughts on this setup would be really appreciated along with anything else to consider. Thanks all!

Please keep an eye out for a land rover with reg Y8 ELM with a new ifor willans trailer stolen last night. Any sightings ring Dave at 07850631221. Long shot but worth a try. The trailer had a green mech on it but they took it off!!!! land rover had a tipper body and covered in Keighley tree services signage. Taken from the west Yorkshire area Thanks Tom

Hi folks i,m new to this forum thing , so please forgive me if i have posted in the wrong place. i got a Ifor tt85 g tipper brand spanking new in 2010, electric tip. to deliver loose bark in bulk loads, so not much weight, actually its only ever tipped less than 40 times since new, all was going well till the other day then it will no longer tip,no warning it just stopped, so i checked the battery charge. all ok, it will descend no problem on the button, but raise it will not. the only thing it is raising right now is a sweat every time i need to unload it and my temper. any ideas to help me solve the puzzle ?

I'm going to buy a Carlton SP7015 TRX, the one Im looking at is a 2006 model. Has anybody who's already got one, had it weighed ? I know the official literature states that its 2ton but I'm not convinced that this is right, I think its heavier. My trailer, with screens, boards, ramps, tools and spare diesel weighs 2.3 ton so it could be important. I'd rather not be on the M3 with a VOSA officer proving to me my trailer and machine is overweight.
