  1. JBL are looking for an experienced and reliable climber to work 2 days a week with the potential for more in the future. Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years climbing experience and have CS39. 38 and 41, a full driving licence and trailer ticket but not essential, we are looking for someone with attention to detail and pride in their work.
  2. Looking for some advice on tax. I'm new to the industry and I am looking to set up as a sub contractor and need some advice on paying tax. I will be getting full time work from a local company but won’t be on the books. So I will technically be a sub contractor still. What do I need to do for tax? Do I set up as a self employed business and pay tax at the end of the tax year? Or is there a way to pay monthly? Or is there a better way to do it for someone in my situation? Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.
  3. We are a new business providing tree care (domestic and some commercial) and conservation contracting. We are approved contractors for Tillhill, the FC and some other large organisations providing scrub clearance, selective felling, coppicing, hedgelaying, ecological mitigation work, de-veg, invasive species management, bat surveys and veteran tree management We are hoping to build relationships with local subbies that share our ethos. We are paying good rates for people that are knowledgable, competent and have an interest in ecology and conservation, but the most important thing for us is that you have a good mental attitude and don't mind a bit of hard work! We have a busy start to the New Year and we could do with some help. We do travel across the southern half of England, and people willing to work away would be very valuable, and well paid. We cover all expenses and nice lodgings. Please email [email protected] outlining your qualifications, experience and interests. Cheers, Harry www.greenmandorset.co.uk
  4. Euc to be removed in East Boldon, Tyneside. If anyone could take a look at it or you are a contract climber and could climb for me that would be great. Steven

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
