  1. Currently studying Arboriculture and Urban Forestry in Inverness and very keen to get my CS30/31. Wondered if anyone is providing training and assesments with assesment location provided by assesor, despite lockdown or very soon after lockdown is lifted? There's quite a few students seeking their basic chainsaw tickets so could put together a group if needed. Also if anyone needs a ground worker in the area, I'm physically fit and willing to learn!
  2. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me out by participating in this questionnaire for my BSc Arboriculture & Urban Forestry dissertation?! 🌲 🌳 If you find the time, at the other end of the link there will be a brief description of the project, some notes on GDPR and why I believe it is integral research for arboriculture moving forward - the questionnaire itself should take no more than 5 minutes! Thanks very much for taking an interest, I really appreciate it! If you could like and share around with others, that would be great. Kind regards, Jacob. Microsoft Forms FORMS.OFFICE.COM

  6. Hi Folks! I am looking for Work Experience in any relevant role to Forest and Arboriculture. I am currently working on a Level 3 Course in Forestry and Arb at Reaseheath College. Woodland Management is my end goal in life. My mission is to become knowledgeable in the Arboriculture industry and gain all the skills and experience I can to try and bring some life back into the UKs woodland areas. From Monday 24/10/16 - Friday 28/10/16. Looking For: Tree Inspections Woodland Management Nursery Work / Tree Planting Groundwork Climbing I'm quite happy to get into anything related to Forestry and Arb. I don't drive but I can get a Train/Bus. I don't have any tickets yet. I don't expect money, I'm happy to volunteer to aquire skills and knowledge. I will NOT waste your time, I will pull my weight and gladly and enthusiastically attempt any task set. The date set is my half term at college, and I don't want to sit on my thumbs. I am 22 years old and I hold a serious attitude towards learning and I keep myself tidy and well managed. I am a sponge and I like to soak up Trees. I hate to be late, I will do my best and drag myself through thorn and bush to be on time. I currently have weekends and Mondays free, so if possible you could have me on those days on a regular/by needs basis if you like me. I have no industry experience, but have already learned a great deal from my amazing course lecturers, Alan Mottram and Leigh Crawley. If you are interested in having me work for you for a week, please Text me, Call me, or preferably EMAIL me. (If you are going to call me, please send a text beforehand letting me know, I tend to get a lot of calls from call centres and general nuisances!) If any part of this post has broken the rules or if you have any advice, please feel free to text me or send me an email or message me through Arbtalk.co.uk
  7. Hi I'm Ryan, I'm a 21 year old arboriculture student studying my level three extended diploma in arboriculture at easton college. I am posting here to see if there is anyone looking for an extra set of hands on the ground within their company. I currently have my NPTC Cs 30 cross cutting and chainsaw maintenance and a Lantra ticket for woodchippers and will hopefully gain my felling tickets soon. I also have my own transport and saw and want to get working as soon as possible. If you have any questions or advice please get in touch, Thanks, Ryan.
  8. Hey guys, I'm new to the forum so I'm sorry if this thread is considered off topic! Long story short, I'm a Graphic Design student from Southampton who's always been fascinated by trees and the professions that specialise in them. Because of this I've decided to do my final major project on, you guessed it, Arborists, but I'm in desperate need of some quotes from the people themselves. I was just wondering if it's not too much trouble if I would be able to ask you guys some basic questions about your favourite parts of the job, favourite tools, etc.? Answers could be as formal, informal, long and short as you liked. Honestly, all replies would be useful and I'd be very grateful for them. I'm not too sure how to go about this so I guess I'll ask the first question and hope for the best! 1. Which are your most & least favourite seasons to work in, and how do they affect your job? Thank you in advance to anybody who replies!
