Hi, We have about 10 acres of Sitka Spruce windthrow to clear. We want to store some on site, for our own future needs and sell the rest. When it is stored [for example at the side of the road or in a clearing], approx how long can it be there before it starts to degrade/rot? Thanks, Alec -
In need of a new kit bag. Really like the look and idea of the Courant cross pro kit bag but slap me and call me little miss Daisy if I'm going to spend that much on a kit bag. What's the best out there or are there any similar to the courant that I won't have do an entire day of contacting to be able to afford?

Hi Guys, A while ago I was in this forum asking if kiln dried oak could be too dry...Ironically some of our beautiful kiln dried crates has started to develop green mould on the logs (see photo!), I'm devastated as I can not sell crates to clients like this! I think it started when some bulilders wanted to be nice and air-proofed one side of the barn where we are storing the crates. The barn is still open one side, however I made them take away the panels they set up to get the airflow again. I know the kiln dried wood would equalise and regain humidity but I didn't expect it to start mould!!! I have put the worst affected crates outside in a "2 side fully opened" barn (still protected from the rain... I have started to brush the crates but afraid the spores will contaminate other crates...and I can't start brushing every log in the stacked crates neither.... Is there anything that can stop the mould from developing more? Know I have looked into more storage solutions and have seen the kiln dried wood is best to place inside...in a warm place? Don't have that available I'm afraid... so hopefully somebody can give me advise. Maybe you know an old trick based on vinegar I can spray the crates with? Please let me know if you have an idea! Before I start, I apologise as this has probably been said 1000 times before but I couldn't find anything specific to my circumstances. I'm looking in to my first truck (only 20) so need something I can use for both work and personal use hence a pick up truck. My question is... which do people prefer, a double cab and the instant ability to be able to store kit away in the back seats securely and live with the loss of space or..... buy a single cab pickup with more space in the back and then have to weld up some sort of a box in the back so that you can still get to the tools if the truck is full with chip etc? a bit like this Also..... I'm based near Plymouth and currently on the market there is a 11 yr old double cab hilux with 97,000 miles at Bristol for £4,995 or a 55 plate double cab ford ranger on 130,000 miles for £3,500 in Exeter.... is that a good deal and or which one shall I go for?! cheers
