  2. Hi, I'm on PAYE for a company in the South East (Kent)and cutting a long story short I provide my own Ppe and most of the climbing gear we use day to day for tree work. I've been climbing for 4 years the first being as an apprentice and 3 qualified. I have always been the lead climber and never once refused a tree. I have cs 30 31 38 39 first aid+F and a trailer licence. I'm fairly un educated as to fair wages as I don't know overheads etc but just wanted an idea on what I could be asking for in wages for a 9-10 hour day. THANKS IN ADVANCE
  3. Austin Family Tree Care is a small but extremely busy, family-run company. We are currently looking to recruit a Groundsman / Second Climber who is: - hard working, trustworthy and reliable - committed to customer care - friendly and enthusiastic about arboriculture. You must hold the following certificates: - CS30 - CS31 - CS38 - CS39 You must also always work to a high standard in terms of both safety and quality, and a full driver's license with trailer entitlement would be an advantage. In return we offer good rates of pay and the chance for the right candidate to progress their career. We also provide full PPE and further training as required. If you feel you could be suitable for this position, please send your CV to: [email protected] or call Westley Austin on 07964 939765 for an informal chat.
  4. Hi all, Obviously in the high winds and bad rain of last night trees fell blocking road paths etc. Now last night gave me a trip to the supermarket on on the return journey home a copper was parked up in the road with blues on. on looking it was apparent a Silver birch had fallen across a cycle path and one side of the carriageway. of course i stopped asked if he needed someone to clear up and get things moving. is response was yes please as the Highways crew are taking to long so of course after making things safe taping off etc we set to work and took logs away and cleared the road. council say yes to an invoice as the officer cancelled the highways crew and we did the work. question is whats the going rate to charge the council for: 2 of us 2 vehicles 2 saws cordon off etc Time Believe me we got soaked as well suggestions would be appreciated
  5. Hello people! I only just joined yesterday so this is my first message. I just wanted to know about some of the rates of pay climbers are getting out there if you wouldn't mind sharing it? I been doing tree surgery for around 7 years and currently working on the railway. Been working there for 2 years and earning £100 a day self imployed. It's been constant work, but I can't see myself earning more there. As that's the sort of rates he pays. Can anyone share there wage that is self employed?
