  3. Afternoon Wondering if anyone has any info on the benefits of taking the Professional Tree Inspectors Course? I took the course many years ago and really enjoyed it and have recommended it to all I meet who are considering it. However I now have a team of my own who I would like to send on it for their benefit but I now have to put a business case together to justify the expenditure for 4 members of staff. My staff already have level 4 arb qualifications or higher and have plenty of arb experience to back it up. So will the Professional Tree Inspection Course trump their existing knowledge? Will the company's insurance improve if they take the course? What is actually gained from a company's point of view or is it purely individual professional 'glory'? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Craig
  4. Self employed Climbers, cutters & grounds maintenance ops wanted for upcoming projects in Pembrokeshire & possibly Carmarthenshire. Pm me with day rates & tickets please. Cheers leon Ps if anyone wants some work this week & first week of January get in touch asap!
  5. Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of a training & assessment centre in south Wales that I can do a LOLER ticket. Cheers
  6. Hi, Ive been looking for chainsaw training courses recently, but have been told by my employer that it must be NPTC assessed. I believe the reasoning is that NPTC use a different person than the trainer to assess, but with Lantra there is no such requirement. In the conservation sector it seems that NPTC (City & Guilds) assessment is the preferred standard, and in many cases Lantra would be rejected despite (probably) no such requirement by their insurance. (RSPB, National Trust, Wildlife Trusts etc) It seems ludicrous, If you have recently been assessed by Lantra, to have to be reassessed on exactly the same QCF criteria, to obtain the same tickets awarded by a different body. Have I missed something? I would love to hear your experience, either as an employer or experience on the job market as to what organizations are requesting or accepting. Many thanks
  7. Due to a very late cancellation a place has become available on a Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross-Cutting & Felling Small Trees course running w/c 1st June 2015 near Woodbridge. This is a Lantra training course with NPTC Assessment, cost is £795 which includes NPTC Candidate Registration & Assessment. Please ring Jane on 07899685472 or email [email protected]
  8. Probably explored countless times in the past however what are the opinions on the credibility of Lantra versus the basic NPTC's i.e. 30/31, 38/39 etc. The reason I ask is that the equivalent Lantra course are a whole lot cheaper at the training providers near me however I have been told to get NPTC's as they are considered more credible than Lantra. Is it worth doing Lantra over NPTC given the opportunity or vice versa?
  9. Can anyone explain what are the differences or which is best please?
