Do you remember that poor bus driver that got hit by a tree in Witley on 3 January 2012 at 8.15.. well his daughter Sophie has been trying to find out and seek answers to this day and find out who is responsible.. I have created this thread to try and get some professional thought on the condition of the tree when it fell?? (please see images of possible fungus).. and how often a tree of this kind should be inspected?? any help would hugely appreciated!! Apologies for the poor quality images.. unfortunately its all i have *some images are graphic* https://www.facebook.com/pages/Andy-Cavanagh-Who-is-responsible-for-the-accident/1559737620931163?pnref=story
  3. Hi all, Me and my friend are planning on starting a partnership (unlimited) next year. we both work in the horticultural sector but as employees only, no managerial experience. We are planning on working for both private home owners and the local authorities, purely grounds maintenance. can anyone tell us what licenses and/or qualifications we will need to work for these clients. eg waste carrier license ect Sorry if we sound stupid on here, we know what the work entails as we do it on a daily basis but we do not know the legal/ paper work side of it. thankyou for you time any help/advice is appreciated. based in oxfordshire
  4. Hi all, would appreciate any help identifying these logs, as I have been sold 100m3 as hardwood seasoned and I don't believe it is! Any advice or info would be great. Many thanks.
  5. Hello i'm back. My name is Matt. Im 19 I was working in an unrelated trade (cabinet maker) but i have since lost my job. I'm a hard worker and i enjoy working hard and manually. I'm looking at working as a groundie i consider myself to be a particularly hard worker, i'm happy to work any hours im asked to work. I just need a chance to prove myself as a worker as i have nothing of particular interest in the paper side. Also i'm finding it hard to even be given a chance due to my age and the general thought of young people being lazy. Can anyone help me? Many Thanks.
  6. Would anyone be able to tell me if I'm getting ripped off by my current service guy. I have a Stihl MS 660 that is used for ringing up large butts at the log barn. It wasn't starting so I took it in and they have said that the fuel in the tank was dirty and this had clogged up the Carb filter (having passed through the fuel tank) filter and it had caused the saw to run lean and heated up and siezed the piston in the cylinder. Is this something that anyone has heard of happening before, and would the compensator device in this type of saw control this? This saw doens't get used often, and has probably only done three days of work, since the last time it was at the shop, where they told me it needed a new piston caused by 'dirty fuel'. I run 7 other saws, two 024's and 5 MS200t's all on the same fuel and no problems with this. Please does anyone know (if there is a Stihl service engineer here) if this is something that I've just been unlucky with, or am I begin bullsh**ted by this place.?? Please help!!
