  1. So, I’ve got a customer who, long story short wouldn’t pay the remainder of a bill that was due in May. When we threatened small claims court, he accused our staff of damaging a self driven lawn mower. the issue, he claims, is that by not leaving at least 2 inches of a stump, the lawn mower can drive over the stumps, therefore damaging the lawnmower. We were never made aware of any requirements for the lawnmower at any stage. Does anybody have any experience in dealing with dodgy claims from even dodgier customers
  2. Hi In the back end of last year I purchased ( stupidly ) what I thought was a genuine reconditioned Woodmizer Lt40 for £6500 . Which turned out to be a copy built by the seller himself , this was not the first machine he built and he built one more machine before trading standards visited to give him 'advise ' . Woodmizer have viewed my saw and supplied annotated photos of none standard parts etc etc . Plus given me a short letter saying the machine is either a complete copy or had so much work it couldn't be considered to be or sold as a woodmizer . The seller refused me a refund or even part refund So I guess now the only option is small claims court . Would anyone happen to know what rough price a secondhand DIY ( badly welded ) sawmill such as this one (photos) would be realistically worth ? Thanks
  3. Just a quick one - watch out for fraudulent listings on ebay for processors etc. The scammers are hacking different accounts each time, they usually have good feedback but not recent and completely unrelated to forestry. The description is also usually very minimal, usually for example: Forestry and Hedging 2011 Good Overall Condition Good Interior Condition Forestry and Hedging Attachments Green Good Body Condition. It might sound pretty obvious but I would hate to see anyone get conned. The machines they advertise normally are for sale legitimately on other websites and they copy the pictures from there. It's happened at least four times with one of them. It's normally only listed for a few days which is abnormal and at a low starting price which for the type of machine. There are tonnes of genuine items there so don't want to be negative but wanted to share the common signs. Each time I have reported the item as fraudulent and sent a message asking for the serial number and it is quickly removed, but it's impossible to speak to ebay about anything to raise the issue. There's one on just now with 7 bids and it's definitely fake. Regards Jack
