  1. I thought I’d share a few photos of a couple of saws I tore down, for port work, a while back. Two Husqvarna 572xps. One ran on Aspen’ one ran on Super unleaded and Moto 800 at 50:1.
  2. Hi all, I work for a tv production company in Bristol and I'm looking for a section of Aspen trunk (ideally 3-4 m long and around 18 inches in diameter) to build a set with. Anyone on here got something that might do the job? I know it can be quite rare but have been told arbtalk would be the place to ask; hopefully we'll get lucky! Distance isn't necessarily an issue, if you have something please get in touch and we can have a think about how to get it to Bristol. Give me a ring on 07412 408148 or ping me an email at [email protected] Cheers! Jed
  3. i was in my local dealer the other day and got chatting, got onto the new husqy fuel as they'd just got the first batch in, the claimed the 2 stroke stuff was just aspen rebadged. anyone else heard this? same sort of price as aspen and red can for 2 stroke and blue can for 4 stroke so it would make sense. my local husqy dealer is far closer and i much prefer them to my local aspen stockist so will happily move to them for fuel is it's the same juice at the end of the day
  4. A population of Aspen (Populus tremula) on one of our nature reserves has rapidly succumbed to disease this year and I am struggling to identify the cause. I submitted a report via tree alert earlier in the year, but I didn’t receive a response as I suppose the team are snowed under with reports of ash dieback and other economically important diseases. The Aspen have cankers on the small branches and twigs. Searching through the internet, the closest match I can find for the disease is Black Canker (Ceratocystis fimbriata). However, I cannot find any reports of the disease in the UK and I wonder if anyone could suggest a more likely cause? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
  5. I have bought a stihl 362 its a second hand 2010 model it previously had not been used with aspen fuel, previous owner mixed their own. I only really want to use aspen as I am led to believe it's better for the user, machines and environment. Is there anything I should do before putting aspen fuel in and starting it up or will it it be ok to just fill her up and go? Machine generally looks ok theres no scoring on piston etc, there's no fuel in tank currently except for a little remnants. Any help greatly appreciated thanks Hamilton
