  1. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me out by participating in this questionnaire for my BSc Arboriculture & Urban Forestry dissertation?! 🌲 🌳 If you find the time, at the other end of the link there will be a brief description of the project, some notes on GDPR and why I believe it is integral research for arboriculture moving forward - the questionnaire itself should take no more than 5 minutes! Thanks very much for taking an interest, I really appreciate it! Kind regards, Jacob. Microsoft Forms FORMS.OFFICE.COM
  2. Hello All, Looking for some advice on what to do with root balls; we are increasingly being asked to remove root balls from sites following felling operations. I have used a few muck away services but they are charging mega money and I'm sure there must be a more cost (greener) effective way. Bit of background we are a ecological contracting company who are increasingly being asked to clear vegetation from sites, ahead of housing developments and are looking for more economic ways of disposing of chipping, large diameter trunks and limbs. Happy for any advice, connections people may have. cheers,
  3. I am always on the lookout for hardwood in the Beds, Bucks, Herts area they want to get rid of..I am not in the industry just looking for stuff to season for my Rayburn to keep the bills down.Let me know if HP23 4QU close enough. Especially if you can just dump it on our drive.
  4. If anyone is struggling to sell good size hardwood logs near me I pay good prices for: Ash, Elm, Sycamore, Walnut, Yew, and even Alder and Birch. The only hardwoods I really don't want are Poplar and Willow, and I do have plenty of Oak at the moment. Sycamore and Ash I am especially low on, so any stems at least 8 foot long and 18 inches diameter give me a call and I will pay around £70 per ton if you will deliver them to me. PM me or ring 01633 400720 during business hours. I will also buy a mixed load which includes firewood size logs and milling size logs, but I pay a bit less for that!
  5. Calling on all arborists, tree surgeons, horticulturist, gardener or similar professionals working with trees in the London Boroughs. I am conducting a confidential survey to gather information that will help our efforts and those of our partners to limit the population, spread and impact of the pest species Oak Processionary Moth (OPM). This pest is known to be present in several boroughs in West London, the Bromley and Croydon areas of South London, and the Spelthorne and Elmbridge Districts of Surrey. The purpose of the survey is to gather information which will help us to better understand how arboricultural, landscaping and gardening businesses operate in London. In turn, our better understanding of those working in the OPM-affected areas will allow us to more effectively manage this pest in the future. I can reassure you that your information will be treated in the strictest confidence, and nothing in the final survey report will identify any individual business. So to help us manage this pest more effectively, I would invite you to complete the short, on-line survey at http://bit.ly/OPM-survey And if you know other similar professionals who might not have heard about this survey, please also encourage them to take part. Further information about OPM is available on our website at Forestry Commission - Pests & Diseases - Oak Processionary Moth. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this important matter.
