  5. Hi, I recently passed my 38 and 39, and I am looking for any odd shift to fill out my weeks. I have experience as a groundsman and consider myself switched on and competent. I would be happy to do ground work or any climbing jobs. I'm a new climber so in need of practise but as with anything in life you get out what you put in. I would add that any work I'm involved with I maintain a professional approach and manner while always trying to raise the standard of my work. I have my own top handle and ground saws, as well as my own climbing kit. If anyone could use a hand in the Glasgow area I'd be happy to hear from you. Cheers, Rich Mob:07933136253
  6. I'm looking for advice on working in Germany, in particular the Hamburg and Schleswig Holstein region. Are British qualifications and tickets recognised out there? What are climbing techniques A and B? Are there any Brits on here working in this region that might have any links to work? Is European tree worker a necessity or would ISA certified do (I have neither)? As much info as possible please! Cheers

Does anyone know anything of arb work out there, and ways into it? is there a route on to the city council work? Thanks for any help. Ben
  11. Hi, I have just passed my cs38 and I'm putting the feelers out for any opportunities to start climbing and gaining experience. I will be getting my cs39 in the next month or two as well. I have a good amount of experience doing ground work and I am looking to progress onto climbing. I am a reliable, competent, flexible and 'switched on' worker that is keen to continue learning and improving my skill set. I have my own ground saw, climbing kit and PPE. I'm 28 and based in Glasgow; however, for the right opportunity I would consider working further afield as I have no ties. Ideally, it would be full time opportunities but I understand this is possibly unrealistic. I am self employed so any opportunities would be considered. Thanks all, Rich Mobile: 07933136253

  18. Hi all, Lots of threads on the credibility and quality of courses which is very useful however I have found nothing on how people have balanced working full time with doing a course? I plan to conduct either the level 4 with Treelife or Level 2 Cert with Myerscough. Do you genuinely think it helps to get ahead with your careers? and are you able to continue to earn a decent living whilst studying? Thanks,

  21. Volunteers needed to help manage our 27acre woodland on a 45 acre farm. (December 2014 to March 2015+) Most work will be to help with extracting, felling, & planting trees. Plus some firewood chopping, milling timber, and various bits of work around the farm (chicken feeding, general maintenance etc.) Accommodation is in a caravan out on the land (2 caravans available), self-catering on a WWOOF basis (willing worker on organic farms) which means you volunteer and get a small contribution towards food. There is also a solar-shower, outdoor cooking space, sauna / lake & lots of gorgeous woodland - but it is 'out-there' and means being reliant on a fire for heat, and a spring for your water. Send me a pm or email if interested or you know someone who might fancy a month or two helping out in the woods in South Devon. All the best Doug
  22. Hi, I am looking for an experienced climber to work regularly 2-3 (or more) days a week on a self-employed basis. We work to a high standard and take pride in our work. Please email me at [email protected] if interested. Many thanks Tommy Plummer

  24. Hi, I am looking to fill in some spare days I have at the moment. Currently, I have CS30 and CS31 tickets, my own 50cc saw and PPE. I am planning on gaining CS38 and CS39 at the start of next year also to progress onto climbing. I'm 28, fit, reliable, switched on and a hard grafter. I have a full clean license and can travel up to an hour for work. If anyone has a need for a groundsman I'd be pleased to hear from you. Regards, Rich 07933136253
  25. Has anyone posted short notice requests on here and had any success? We occasionally find ourselves let down by the odd client and because we specialise in Utility Arb cannot just drop the guys on something else that day. We can actually find ourselves finding out 4pm regarding work being cancelled for the following day. Instead of getting the guys 'logging up' round the back, I wondered if anyone else thought it might be useful to use this forum to advertise something like '2 guys, 30,31,38,39, 4x4 trk chipper available for the next 2 days' on this site. Any thoughts? Anyone done this before? Is there/should there be a thread here just geared towards passing round our resources in order to help each other out every now and again? Jim
