  1. Hello tree cutting folk. Castlecroft in Wolverhampton based log burner owner here. I am looking for van loads of wood to fuel my heating for the winter of 24/25. If you have logs / branches of any size up to about 1m diameter, preferably in sections I am physically able to lift / roll, then please get in touch. Any types of wood accepted, but if it's hardwood then I would be even more pleased to see you. Happy to receive trunks, stumps, hardwood, softwood (including pine). Please feel free to ring / text me on zero seven four three four, six zero one, double zero four (now accepting unknown numbers, cos I am a genius and forgot that initially), or email me on quarksloth at gmail dot com. I can receive waste any day of the week at any time. Access is easy as I plonk all the wood on my drive where I process it for seasoning. I am happy to tip beer money / tea / cake as appropriate. Thank you for your time.

  3. Hi all, Perhaps this is a long shot, I don't know, but at the risk of sounding naive I'm wondering if anybody can offer me any work on a part time basis to fit around current shift work? (one or two days a week. If all goes well I can increase that over time) I'm looking to move away from my career as a support worker for children with SEN and challenging behaviour. It's very enjoyable, often very difficult, but it's not what I see myself doing for the rest of my working life. I've got a CS30/31 course booked in July and will look to pass my trailer test before then (funds allowing). I have EFAW, H+S, COSHH certificates from current job. I'd be especially interested in forestry, conservation or estate maintenance type work, but any experience would be welcome! I'm not scared of hard graft (in fact I like it!) and I tend to learn quickly so you won't be babysitting me. Can provide own PPE and look to get hold of anything else as needed. If anybody can offer anything please get in touch. Simon

  15. I'm looking for a trainee position. Myself I haven't had any experience, im 18 doing my a levels at the moment so I cannot start full time until after 10th of June. Although i am willing to do various NPTC courses in the mean time. Ideally id like to be trained up to become a climber eventually. I would like a paper qualification but if its not possible I can combine it with a part time course at Moreton Morrel college. Consider me, I am willing to graft hard in order to get where I want to be. I just think a position where I can learn first hand within the industry not at college will benefit me more. Thanks.
  16. Very keen. First idea was to go to Warwickshire college and do the Level 3 Arboriculture course but its going to be really tough to fund. I have some experience doing some 'backyard lumberjack' kind of work. I'm really into how everything works even though I cant even scrape the surface of how in depth everything is. I'm basically willing to work for very low wage if the employer is up for fully training me up starting at groundsman working up to climber. Does any body know of any apprenticeship programmes around, or otherwise any large well known Arboricultural companies I can contact for information? Thanks
