1997 Ford transit tipper with handy 150 hydraulic crane.manual stabiliser leg. Aluminium tipper body and still has a great legal payload. Adjustable tow bar. 12 months MOT Ive owned it for the last 16 years and has previously been serviced annually with its MOT. Very good tyres. New discs and pads. Cambelt replaced last year. High mileage but drives extremely well. We are taking delivery of a new crane vehicle for firewood delivery and so selling because it has become to old for our fleet although will be sad to see it go. Price is plus VAT

  2. Hey All, Buying a transit tipper and I'm going to want a Chip Box built on the back. I'd like to ask your advice on the best option. Ply, steel, ali or a mixture and, importantly, what overall cost I'll be looking at? Thanking you...
  3. Hi Guys, Im starting a 2nd team and am looking for a 2nd hand truck. Would be interested in anything with a chip box. Preferably transit size. If you know or have anything that might be for sale please let me know. Many thanks, Jake. 07969146309
  4. Any advice for finding a hauler to collect 50 5m small diameter saw-logs to take from south Devon to Winchester (close to A38). Where should I look & what sort of costs would I be looking at. Any advice in the right direction would be excellent. 50 lenghts at 5m Each log roughly 25cm diameter Reckon that makes about 12.5m3 of timber total. Thanks in advance.
  5. Three years ago, before I even started climbing trees I bought a Transit van to get around the place (on the recommendation of a tree surgeon friend from Dorset.) A year later it became home to a harness, rope and hand saw. Now it's filled with 4 chainsaws, crates of climbing gear, crates of rigging gear, big shots, pole saws, rakes, blowers, fuel cans and smelly boots all spread over the floor. I keep thinking to sell the big tranny (actually it's a short wheel base low roof - but still pretty big I reckon) and go the aussie way and get a Ute. Especially after I have to spend big money on repairs (Transit parts in Australia are exxy). Only 50,000 miles since 2002 (the first owner did 20,000 in 7 years!) so it's in pretty good condition but it's about time to line the inside and throw in some shelves so I can better organise all this equipment. I've got a few ideas but wondering if anyone is will to post pictures of their van showing a neat line up of chainsaws, hanging ropes etc since there must be a few of you UK arborists using Transit vans for your arb gear. Cheers, Steve
  6. Evening all...... Went down to pick some bits up from my (shared) yard in Shipley, W Sussex at 8:30 on Sun night. Found my faithful old Transit gone, office and workshop broken into and Daihatsu Fourtrak 4x4 with knackered locks and steering column, hand tools and other bits gone off with the Transit. Other vehicles and buildings broken into. The other firm I share with had been in at 5pm and nothing was out of place so we can only assume that we had visitors who were in and out across the fields very quickly. The frost helped them get the truck out through the woods and fields to the road about 1/2 mile away without disturbing the front gates. Transit's number is K926 MOU..... Distinctive two tone colour scheme and very distinctive Atlas crane behind cab. Ex Bristol Water with approx 75k miles on the clock. All credit to Sussex Police, uniformed officers were straight out and on the case.... Please send a PM if you spot anything, bearing in mind the truck could now be off to be used in robbing other people.
  7. I have read various reviews of Iveco daily's. I run Transits with the smileys face's on them and they take the abuse, but, I need newer vehicles (2nd hand) as the transit's are looking very @ikey, Except all our local caravan dwellers are the only people in brand new vehicles. So plus's and minus's please and what should I look out for if buying either of these vehicles, and is it worth getting the 35c12 or the 35c15. I don't have facilities for operators license facilities either (Shame) so I am limited. Thank you all
