  1. Hi all I run a small rural contracting business I have recently finished a forestry contract we’re u was driving a fowarder and a 14t digger with a grab I’m now thinking of buying a 1.5t digger with a fixed grab to assist other companies and my own and possibly get a chipper later on to do even more so but not sure whether I should take the plunge is there s maker for this thank you in advance
  2. I currently have a 2 year old tw230 just coming out of warranty, machine is great and I have no complaints with mine, however, in people’s experiences is it best to upgrade when you can to a new machine with 3 more years warranty, or the cheaper option of sticking with what you have already got and crossing your fingers? chipper is on 200 hours so low but there is mixed reviews on the longevity of the 230 chassis etc due to cracks and what have you. Thanks

  4. Hello All, looking at selling Lumbermate 2000, 5 yrs old. Its in good condition didn't have a hard life with us or the previous owner (who i knew). Its been stored for three years in the barn and then we had it mostly outside for last 2 but always under cover. Its trailored - 5 m long - the longest mobile mill you can get, you can take extensions off to make it shorter. Horizontal Bandsaw type, water lubricated. Petrol Engine - Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 23 hp. It has a pre-paid tracking device (for a year). No obligation to extend the contract once it runs out. It would come with cant hooks, quality blades, engine oil, some spare parts, user manual and plenty recommendations where to get spares and other tricks. I am also happy to spend some time with you teaching you how to use it. It is located in Yorkshire. The asking price is £6000.
  5. Its finally here! Our demo machine of the new Timberwolf 280TDHB arrived today, and what a beauty it is! It features a super wide funnel, 8" capacity, huge chipping power and added stability to cope with the extra power and in-feed! Bigger, better, and beastier than the TW190, the feed aperture is 15% larger than its nearest rival! To discuss further or arrange a demo, please call us on 01962 857951! Head to Facebook(Forest And Arb), Twitter(@ForestAndArb) and Instagram(ForestAndArbHQ) for more photos of our brand new machine!
  6. Hi Guys, Just a little nudge, remember we've still got the Husqvarna 550XP chainsaw, with at 15" bar, available for £515.00 including the VAT. If you're after a new ground then there is no point looking anywhere else, these machines are superb! Obviously all the ones we are have available are all the latest 2015 models, and we've had no problems with them what-so-ever, so definitely worth a look! Husqvarna 550XP Chainsaw

  8. Hi. I am a local authority ranger and we are looking to hire a firewood processor to run off the pto on our Massey 410 (55 horse) tractor. We want it delivered to us and collected afterwards and would probably need it for a working week. I am posting this to get some prices from anyone local who would be able to offer us a suitable machine for hire. As we are local authority we would have to set you up on our purchase order system (not cash!). Please give me a shout if this sounds like something you can help with. Matt
  9. Hi everyone, I require a little help please. One of our Timberwolf 150's infeed rollers stopped working today #annoying! The reverse switch works and i checked the connections and stop bar switch but no luck. I then took off the ECU cover and revved the machine up to full chat and the control box showed a red light with the title "speed fault 2/h". Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? Any help in fixing the issue would be most helpful! yours Mitch

  13. Hiya, I'm trying to come up with an ideal machine for cutting firebreaks on heathland. The cuttings need to be removed from the break for it to be effective. The established breaks are mostly grasses with young heather and gorses - c. 1yo, so very small. New firebreaks would be more of the same but much denser and up to 4' high in places. We currently use a Rytec flail collector on a 46hp Massey which does a good job but needs emptying so often it's really slow. The ground is uneven and rocky in places so 3pt linkage mounted machine would be ideal. In the past we've cut with the flail collector lid off and the cuttings have been blown into the air and away off the break if the wind is in the right direction, not always the case. I was thinking of a beefed up forage harvester to blast the cuttings in any given direction, and came across a: Kuhn TRP 145 CV - google it as I've only got a large pdf with it in. It looks good, but is not cheap (c. £10k) and requires a higher powered tractor than ours (we could hire one for the job but not ideal). Any thoughts on this, or alternative suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Sean Cornwall Wildlife Trust
  14. Does anybody know if there are any grants available for buying plant and machinery in our industry. There are loads if you're a farmer, but i'm not.
  15. I'm going to buy a Carlton SP7015 TRX, the one Im looking at is a 2006 model. Has anybody who's already got one, had it weighed ? I know the official literature states that its 2ton but I'm not convinced that this is right, I think its heavier. My trailer, with screens, boards, ramps, tools and spare diesel weighs 2.3 ton so it could be important. I'd rather not be on the M3 with a VOSA officer proving to me my trailer and machine is overweight.
