The ratchet system allows force to be applied to the tree to make the direction of the fall easy to control. The product can also be used for lifting logs from the ground, making it easier to cut with the logs with a chainsaw. This product is available for purchase now at a reduced price of £99 including UK delivery.

  4. Hi Everyone! I am in the market for a new forestry crane and trailer combo and I have managed to narrow it down to either a 7 tonne Mowi or a 7 tonne Palms trailer. I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with either as it seems near to impossible to find any reviews on the buggers! Thanks!

  8. Anyone know of anywhere in the UK that sells log skidding cones? (these are plastic/steel cones which go over the front of the log when it is being dragged, and make it easier to pull over obstacles etc). I am aware of them in the USA/Canada, but they are too difficult to import.
  9. Hello folks, We own a small patch of largely conifer woodland on a steep slope, and have investigated lots of potential solutions for small scale timber extraction. A portable winch seems to offer many advantages in terms of getting timber to where we can process it, and I wonder if anyone had any thoughts on capstan winches in a forestry setting. In particular, the Cyclone 3000 seems a likely candidate: Cyclone Winches Ltd - Capstan Winches Anyone any experience of this brand? Thanks for any pointers
