  4. Hi everyone, im in my final year at college doing L3 arb and forestry. I am looking at different employment options when i leave, and like the idea of starting my own business doing woodland management (woodland clearing, thinning, tree felling) and selling the nice timber to the mill, and the rest as fire wood. I have access to tractors and an area too store wood in the dry. Obviously there are a few questions i have before starting up, so any help would be appreciated. -How easy is it to find work doing woodland clearing/thinning and tree felling? -Any tips/advice for this type of work? -How to you guys sell your nice timber to the mill? do you just give them a ring before you cut it or after? -Is there money to be made selling firewood? -How do you deliver your firewood? pickup? I currently have my NPTC Cs 30 cross cutting and chainsaw maintenance and a Lantra ticket for woodchippers and will hopefully gain my felling tickets soon. Hi i have recently received a call from a company called service magic, what they basically do is they get leeds from costumers who are searching for you're services "tree surgeons" what they do is you pay an initial fee of 30 pounds then you pay £12 plus vat per lead now this is weather you go and give the customer a quote or not. I was just wondering if anyone had used a service like this before or even this service and if its any good P.s this is my first time using arb talk so please help

  24. We are a small company who undertake both domestic and commercial tree and landscaping work. We are based in the Tyne Valley, Northumberland. We are looking for an experienced and qualified climber, who is capable of leading a team from time to time. A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience is preferable. The job would be on a sub-contractual basis, with a minimum of 3 days available per week. The work is varied; we undertake large tree work; pruning and dismantling, site clearance work, domestic works, small forestry contracts, tree planting etc. and garden and landscaping works.
