I was just wondering what the going rate for a subcontractor groundsman is for working away from monday and back home friday The groundsman will only need to bring him self and provide his own food Accomodation and all kit and ppe is provided along with training. Tree Canopy Climb, a business of 13+ years in the Barnsley, South Yorkshire area, are looking for a full time grounds-person and a weekend sub-contracting climber. 90% of our work is based in the Barnsley area and I am based in Darton just off Junction 38 of the M1. Monday - Friday is all the 2 man jobs with me + grounds person. The weekends are reserved strictly for the larger tree jobs working Saturdays and Sundays (rarely). Grounds-person will be expected to get to the garage at 7AM Mon-Fri and same time Saturdays when working. Experienced is good but also someone very keen with some experience is OK with the opportunity to put through a full apprenticeship scheme with Askham Bryan on a 9-week block release basis.   4. Seasoned woodsman heading back to the New Forest after six months abroad. I get back on 12th July and ideally I’m looking for forestry/groundie work within an hour of Bramshaw. I have Cs30/31/32/38/39, brushcutter and tractor experience. Not climbed for a while but competent with a chainsaw and happy to build up from groundie until I get back into the swing of things if needed. Got my own PPE, saw etc. Cheers Steve
  5. Hi, following a change in career, I am newly qualified with CS30/31 certificates and looking to begin work as a groundsman. With my sights set on undertaking my CS38 Ariel rescue course as soon as possible, I am also first aid at work trained, hold a MEWP licence and have experience towing up to 750kg MAM. I currently live in Winchester but willing to relocate for the right position. Preferable areas of work would be Hampshire and Wiltshire. Admittedly I have little experience except for some work experience with a local firm, however I am no stranger to hard work and long days. Been doing UA work for about a year looking to see what else is around. Been climbing for half year but ur limited due to mewp work mainly.   18. Our client is a large Arb Approved Contractor based in south west London. They run two to three tree teams undertaking arboricultural works for their established client base of housing associations, residential and commercial clients. They are currently looking to recruit a second climber/groundsman to work as part of the two or three man tree team. This role would involve assisting the climber, processing wood/brash and keeping the work site safe and tidy. There will also be basic climbing and pruning works to undertake. In return they offer an attractive salary of £19,000 - £24,000 depending on experience, paid monthly. Other benefits - Pension, quarterly company bonus based on profit, overtime after 4pm and Saturdays at 1.5 time.
