  2. Arborists / Team Leader wanted - Immediate Start available. Undertaking large scale contract arboriculture works for rail and highways. We are undergoing a period of rapid expansion and are looking for experienced arborists to join our teams. Candidates should be experienced and must work well within a team environment and under instruction. Minimum qualifications for standard applications for both Rail and Highways are NPTC CS30, 31, 38, 39 & 40 (41 is an advantage) and a CSCS site card for Highways and hold PTS for the Rail. A current first aid certificate, chipper certification and a full driving license with towing ability preferable. Arborists We are looking for experienced time served arborists to join our expanding Highways & Rail arboriculture teams working on highways and rail trackside vegetation clearances. Our teams work day and night shifts and we require additional team members with flexibility to work both. Arborist Team Leader In team leaders we look for the ability to lead by example with excellent communication skills. The skill set and requirements are as per a standard arborist but we look for people used to leading people with the knowledge to drive a team and meet targets. We are looking to recruit two experienced Climbers who are passionate, enthusiastic with the ability to be highly self-motivated and productive in providing a high quality service to our customers. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ climbing experience with the minimum NPTC City & Guilds Certificate of Competence qualifications: CS30, 31, 38, 39, and Brushwood Chipper. First Aid and a clean driving licence with ability to tow according to current DVLA towing regulations is a must, (LGV licence beneficial). Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) desirable.   13. Its that time again - The East of England Cutters and Climbers Competition is upon us once more (and I'd only just suppressed the memories of last year). Gratefully sponsored once again by arbtalk.co.uk and arbjobs.com (amongst others!). Same old routine (more or less); book your place, get your tickets, turn up, climb a tree, cut one down, have a laugh and win some prizes. Same events as last year, except we're dropping the bar and chain change for a head to head pole climb. Cos everyone loves spikes!! Ha ha. We're looking at a simpler ranking system this year, with prizes for the top handful for each event but the big prizes going to the best all rounders who complete all three events. Due to financial stress we are regretfully charging £5 per event or £10 for all three. Competitors tickets are still free though! Post your questions and I'll do my best!
