  1. Hi guys, Does anyone know where you can hire a large chipper from in Norfolk. 9in - 12in Many thanks Jon
  2. I used to have my own successful tree surgery company for 17 years which I ceased in 2015. I have a Unimog 2450 front mounted chipper with a 30cm aperture and a variable tracked 190 Timberwolf and I am thinking of starting an operated chipper hire company. Is this something you would use on a semi regular basis? I am fully ticketed and experienced including UA5 and based in Ashford, Kent. Suggested day manned rates are £585 for the Unimog and £170 for the Timberwolf, approximately. I would really appreciate feedback on whether you would use this service and whether you think the day rates are fair. Cheers, Chris.
  3. We have an opportunity in our parts department for a new menber of staff. Lots of Unimog parts to sort, new and old also lots of chipper and crane parts. Part time or full time. Good pay for the right person. Call Martyn on 015242 42333 or email [email protected]. Have a look at the kind of equipment we work with; AC Price Engineering Ingleton Cumbria
  4. Hi all. I'm looking to purchase a second hand chipper and i'm going to look at a Jensen A518Di wood chipper (2003) this week. Has anyone used one of these? How do they compare to tw150 etc? Any advice would be much appreciated!
  5. How much would a tp400 crane fed chipper be new? I'm just curious about this as I cannot seem to find any prices or guidance on how much they would be on the web.
  6. Sub contractor climber available with own truck and chipper. Starting out in business and looking for work around Herts, Beds, Bucks and the north London area. I can also provide a groundsman if required. All sorts of tree work undertaken. Fully insured and qualified. please call bill at evoke tree services on 07902181348. or email [email protected]
  7. A few weeks ago I was using the greenmech chipper and it's suddenly started knocking quite badly and chuffing out loads of oil smoke. So I had the engine out, found an inlet valve was stuck open, and corresponding push rod bent. I replaced the valve and push rod and put back together with new gasket set. With the engine now back installed it starts and runs without knocking and all seems fine (runs with no smoke at all) until you get up to the very high revs where it suddenly just starts chucking out massive clouds of blue smoke. This engine has no oil ways through the head so cannot be head gasket, it is now fitted with new valve stem seals, so by my reckoning I have buggered rings? Any advice or experience with similar issue is appreciated, thanks,
  8. I'm looking for work in Doncaster and the surrounding areas. Tickets held. Wanting groundwork or felling work. Any enquiries please ask. [email protected]
  9. I've got a greenmech 150/25 with the shredder on the side. I'm Pretty sure I've found all the other grease points but how do you grease the top roller bearing. I can't even see the bearing. It appears that the bearing should be under the dash panel, I've undone the dash and pulled it back but the bearing doesn't seem to be where I was expecting to see it? Anyone got experience with this machine?
  10. Freelance climber with tickets, own PPE, saws and chipper available for sub-contract work. Happy to work as a groundie too - but will not work for peanuts. Call 07773746621.
  11. Hi guys, just bought a cm202 8" chipper and was wondering if anyone had a pdf manual for them or knows of where I could get one. Was going to call greenmech but they don't open again until jan 5th. Thanks John
  12. Need a chipper, which should I go for? Looking at the small towable Echo Bearcat, or the DR XL, both around 3.8k. Really appreciate and advice/experience, thanks
  13. Chipper fell off truck between sites and was only noticed once they got to the 2nd site! It's a timberwolf 150dhb with a blue vice on bolted onto the engine cab. It fell off and the arborist on the job drove around looking for it after noticing, but to no avail! I will try and get more information as and when I can but if anyone sees anything that would be great! it was the south Oxfordshire area - Wallingford Thanks Owen
  14. Hi, Can anyone recommend Wood chipper servicing/repairs in the north east of england? Preferably near durham?? many thanks.
  15. I'm looking into purchasing a tractor mounted chipper to go on a 130hp case tractor, mainly to offer a 'For Hire' service in and around Somerset. Firstly what do you recommend I go for and also, would anybody be interested in hiring it? The tractor has a front loader and a grab which can move and clear a lot of brash very quick. If the chipper could chip to biomass grades would that be an advantage?
  16. Advice needed please... I have recently bought a GM220 and after 3 hrs use the rollers are stuck in full in feed position. Any ideas???? Also does anyone know the RAL code for GM or a similar coloured shade of Agricultural enamel... Thanks Matty
  17. Hi all, Looking at buying my first chipper, a camon c250 and although people on here will probably tell me to steer away from it, for the price I think it is perfect for me and my business. Question: How easily are parts available? How easy are blades to come across? Thanks, Ben
  18. Hi lads, Wondering if you could shed a little light on my problem. I've got a entec chipper with a petrol Kohler 22hp a think, it starts up, runs fine for a few seconds buts the revs lower and sometimes cuts out. I've had the carb cleaned in a proper tank and the in line fuel filter is clean, just not sure what else to check? Any help greatly appreciated Cheers Andrew
  19. Hi I am about to buy a 2nd hand 6" chipper and really need some advise about jensen vs timberwolf. the jensens are more expensive even with double the hours and i d like to know why this is? I am looking at a 2006 jensen with 1000 hours on it for £6500. but have seen a few timberwolfs with 600-700 hours for £5000-£5500. any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  21. Hi all I work for a marketing company (in London) and we are doing a project where we are hoping to recycle this years xmas trees to make next years xmas cards. We ideally want to hire a shredder that can do this for us on site (in the car park in front of our office). The paper mill we are hoping to work with say the chips we supply them have to be no bigger than 1cm. Their machinary cannot handle anything bigger than this. All the chippers i've investigated chip a fair amount bigger than this. Does anyone know of anywhere I can contact that would be able to help me on this? As above, I am looking to chip the trees down to a coarse sawdust (no bigger than 1cm) Many thanks in advance for your help! Charlotte
  22. Hi everyone, I require a little help please. One of our Timberwolf 150's infeed rollers stopped working today #annoying! The reverse switch works and i checked the connections and stop bar switch but no luck. I then took off the ECU cover and revved the machine up to full chat and the control box showed a red light with the title "speed fault 2/h". Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? Any help in fixing the issue would be most helpful! yours Mitch
  23. Hi all, I need to hire a vari-track chipper for tomorrow in Birmingham. Can anyone help? All my usual contacts have none left!!!! Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Tom
