From what I can see the bolt is an 1/2 uncx3” .countersunk socket ,grade 10.9 , and the nut is 1/2 unc not sure what the purpose of the the flange lip is on the nut, could just be a locking collar, like an aero tight nut, It’s hard to google for nuts and bolt best bet is ring a local fastener company, the only reason not to use a nyloc would be heat could affect the nylon ,

I agree that your skin will toughen up in time & and when you’re doing the job full time the frown lines on your forehead will work like guttering ,

Yes never had a problem with them had some stuff in the last few weeks ,I know they have to buy big quantities of stihl to get good prices,so they might have to wait for larger bulk orders ,I’ve had this with stihl items in the past from different places , But when I’ve spoke to mowers2go on the phone they have always been straight,

I had the stihl raintec jacket ,let water in around the shoulder area some how & the cuffs have a fabric edge that gets wet & stays wet and start to smell , stretch ok to work in ,now have the portwest dx4 waterproof hivis , can’t fault it ,light weight, you don’t sweat to bad in it , very waterproof, better value best I’ve had for the money

We have been using the 85/86 for the last four years ,the first set of 85 went trough a motor 4 times in the first year , have the 66 as well , I think we have done 10 motors in total on 6 sets no other issues apart from that had them wet all day , the problem that dose the motor is the shaft is to thin and once the motor gets hot it bends easy, so if you treat them gently when hot they are ok ,I think they are better than petrol as they are easy on the arms and shoulders no noise or fumes in your face when using them at head height,

I have the hsa60 with the ak20 battery, we use them on topiary , as the a small and light , had them a couple of years no problems , also have the hsa100 for general hedge work got a couple of set of them both have had new motors under warranty, also have the hsa 94 ,great hedge cutters the best I’ve every used even over petrol , but the cable is a pain ,

As I said I have done crank bearings on stihl chainsaws in the past but not had dealing with husky’s, when you google it you see horror stories of damaging cranks and casing trying to do them with out the specific husky tools ,so if it was the case of having to buy a few hundred quids worth of tools for one case it’s not worth doing ,

Thanks 👍

Thanks for that yes mark 1

Thanks I will price the parts up including the sleeve tool ,when the dealers re open I’m thinking it’s the clutch side bearing that’s the issue would you change both bearings?
-
Great thanks 👍

Hi I have a Husky 562xp with suspected crank bearing issue, I have not started to work on it yet , done them on stihl branded saws , But as far I am hearing you need a load of specific tools to do it On these and the bearings are fortune , and it’s easier to buy the full new block, Has anyone had experience of doing these with success ?

I have the topdon js3000 it’s been great for the money ,

What about bolt on pallet forks fit direct to your bucket so you keep the weight down ,

The thing is everyone thinks they can do this job but in reality watching a video YouTube doesn’t make you an expert, There are lot easier ways to make a living,As long as people will work for the money nothing will change, We had a customer suggest today could we not use a bow and arrow to bring down a snagged branch rather than pay us to climb the tree.

We have m300 , it spends all its life outside , never had any problems with belts or bearings just a bit of grease to the bearing as long as the blades are sharp it will give you very little problems ,they are well made not over complicated loads of different lads have used ours who normally wreck an iron ball ,as yet none have broke it , good little machines

We had similar thing once with wood chip dust on the roof of a soft top mini, Gave them £20 to get it washed they were made up easy fix , But we were on a site once were some guys were painting some railings with a spray gun on a windy day and covered all the cars in the car park with grey primer, I think that would take more than £20

I think it is a shame a lot of people will lose there jobs, always had good service over the years, another sad way the economy is going,I bet they paid big money to Google to be first on every page ,It will be the end users who will lose out

If you leave it until the autumn it will have dropped all it seed heads and they will grow back again, In our experience it takes about 5 years to get rid of it , we do the stem injection as well as spraying ,but the sooner you treat it the better ,

The biggest thing to remember is look after yourself,I am just recovering from bladder cancer that the specialist said was due to the exposure to chemicals, I thought I was just unlucky to get it at 45 but after speaking to an old coworker who had the same thing told me 8 other guys at the council had the same cancer , ?..? The amount of farmer friends of mine who suffer from Parkinson’s is unbelievable,if I had my time again I would let the weeds grow six foot high.🤣

I totally agree about the stihl motors in the hla 85/86 , we have three sets and have had a least 10 motors in three years , great when they work but not good enough for a pro tool, I have invested a lot in stihl battery kit but I’m considering changing to the husky long reach , I would like to know how the husky’s hold up they look more robust,

Yes your spot on £5.80 is taking the piss, I worked at a fastener place when I was younger and they pay pence for them , the imperial are more expensive as they don’t sell them in Europe in the same numbers,
