  1. Not waterlogged but potentially drought, considering the significant change in weather patterns could suggest sun scold... if we guess enough I'm sure we will get it right at some point. On a serious note the tree is not well maintained and potentially exposed to everything you wrote 😁
  2. Yeah extremely poor pruning and alsoat least 25% of the crown being removed. Definitely a contribution factor

Thanks for the reply, There is no damage to the base of the tree with the main bark still intact, There has been no excavation anywhere near the root protection zone for this tree and it has only died within the last 12 months. I was leaning towards sun scorch to be honest. My main concern is this is a council tree outside a primary school where the kids always keep climbing the tree..... On doing a QTRA the tree needs to be felled. I just wanted to understand what had gone wrong with this tree.... I can get more photos if needed
  4. Hello, Is there anyone who can help me understand why this Rowan tree has died. The bark at first glance looked like someone had ringed the tree but on a closer inspection this does not appear too be the case. The bark is peeling and damp like. Thanks
