  1. A cheapo plastic snow shovel is also good for shifting leaves in lightweight debris in bulk, I mainly use one of these and a builders/ton bag
  2. Thanks for the tips. Yes will be getting best boots that I can and trying everything before buying. As the saying goes….. Two things in life to spend good money on, your bed and your boots, if you’re not in one you’re in the other. Won’t be wearing it all day every day, but at least a couple of full days a week during the winter then as and when needed over summer. I’m used to dragging brash in cheap nasty waterproofs so know what it’s like to ‘boil in the bag’
  3. Sorry I can’t help, I’m just following this post as interested in finding out
  4. Hi All In a couple of months time I’ll be having my chainsaw course and assessment (just the basic maint/cross cut/fell and process up to 380mm). I’m just trying to get my head around the PPE levels I’ll need, I understand class 1/2/3 and type A/C and my novice head is thinking that I’ll need the clothing to protect me for the most powerful saw we have, which is a Stihl MS461 which runs at 28.3 m/s, so class 3. However, most kit (trousers at the moment) I can find is only class 1 or the odd class 2. Will class 1 be fine and am I just being overly cautious, or should I definitely go for class 3? Thanks in advance for your help UTR
  5. Hi all Can anyone recommend any trainers that would come and train on site please? Would just be for two people, however plenty of woodland and a training room available, have chainsaws and ppe Thanks!
  6. Hi all, my first post on here so hope I’ve got the correct forum I’m after some advice please. At my place of work we have 2 unused Kask Super Plasma 2 helmets that were bought before I started working there, they are just the basic helmet with no visor or guards etc. My current helmet needs replacing and I’d like to start using one of the Kasks, however I’ll need the ear defenders and metal mesh visor to put on to it....... But I haven’t got a clue what parts I’ll need to order from Kask, I’m worried I’ll order the wrong fixings. Can someone please give me the full run down of parts (and part numbers) that I need? I’m just used to buying a Stihl helmet off the shelf so not clued up on Kask and their accessories Thanks!
