Thanks everyone really helpful comments [emoji1303]
Hope this isn’t a silly question but for the rod bracing do I just use threaded bar with nice big washers and nuts, m12 or thereabouts? -
Hi all,
Has anyone had any experience bracing and cabling a tree?
I’ve been asked by a client to prolong the life of a Chinese Elm that has started to fail at the main union where the trunk splits into two.
My thoughts are to drill and bolt the tree through the union and then install a static cable brace (like a cobra brace) within the crown.
Has anyone done this before? Has it been successful?
Thanks

Evening all,
I expect this topic has been discussed before but what with the ever advancing nature of technology i thought i'd ask what plant trackers people are using currently?
I'm looking to install some on chipper and grinder etc in the (hopefully) unlikely event they go walkies...
Thanks

Hi all, my transit tipper is feeling its age these days, can anyone point me in the right direction to 'beef up' its suspension. It spent its early days as a mewp so i think the three leaf spring suspension has been worked hard, chuck half a load of logs and chip in it and its not happy!
Its a single wheel AWD jobby so an all round package might be cool?
Thanks

Hi guys, can anyone give me some tips on the best way to sharpen and get the most out of my Rayco super teeth.
And the best place to buy replacements.
Thanks

Hi all,
This is an old post i know but...
I looked at a mature Sycamore the other day where one of the main leaders had the same bark damage as pictures 1&2 above. This leader was in decline with very poor vigour, plenty of dead wood and weak foliage compared to its counterpart which looked fine in comparison.
Does anyone know what has caused this on the bark?
Thanks
Swamp Cypress crown reduction

Hi all,
Has anyone had any experience reducing the crown of a Swamp Cypress?
I looked at one on a job the other day which has been reduced in the past, around 4-5 years ago going by the re-growth.
Very little to no growth points where the old cuts are, it will almost be a bit of a pollard if I follow the old line.
Do you think it will respond ok to this or should I be taking less off and go back to growth points?
Thanks in advance!
