  1. I personally like the forums for the vast amount of free advice they give. But if you look at the responses once several members knew it was fixed and what was wrong with it - (I wasn’t hiding what the issue was) their comments were rather disgraceful for someone asking for help. I didn’t think I had to sign up to being ridiculed because members gave me their wisdom. It would have helped if I had a carb tester but right at the start I said I hadn’t. That’s what being a newbie is all about. I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate some of the comments if they were thrown in your direction. But as I’ve already commented I am grateful and thank everyone for there POSITIVE responses.
  2. I actually wrote this message late this morning and thought it was posted. I have just read the comments for the people I was thanking. I didn’t expect to have to go down on bended knee and kiss butt. You have the expertise of these matters and all I was asking for was friendly advice without the sarcasm, but that’s life. Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself and you won’t go wrong in life. Never lower your own standards to that of the gutter, unfortunately that’s what’s happened here with some who think they must be held up on the highest regards. To all that didn’t have the crap comments to spoil such a good avenue for us starting off, I whole heartedly thank you.
  3. I have to thank everyone who took time out on my saws issue. Guess what the forum here said it was the needle valve and I was thinking that three carburettors can’t possibly have all the same problem. THEY ALL DID!!! I bought a number of various carb kits last Autumn and have found out the hard way that I have mixed up two lots. Huge thanks again to everyone. Tom
  4. Never looked down the carb for it to be leaking at that end. Will check that too cheers for all this help
  5. I will do all the checks you have said when I get back to the saw later on. Don’t you think it strange if all three new needle valves We’re stuck open though? Can anything have happened when I cleaned the three carbs with the ultrasonic cleaner. That’s the only new factor I have done with this particular rebuild? Yes everything is airline blowed dry including the muffler.

  7. I’m not pulling in as many as 8 times as there is too much fuel leaking. I will check the flywheel key I will change over the carb and air filter from my working saw. I’ve not got a compression tester but it doesn’t seem as good as the other saws. Maybe the new cylinder and piston is not fitted properly.
  8. I have tried pulling it with the choke on and no joy. I stop after a few pulls as it is leaking fuel like mad from the exhaust port. The same thing happens without the choke. I will take an air filter and carb off a good working saw and hopefully that will lead me where to go.

I will check the fly wheel key and see if that is still in situ I’m going to borrow a carb compression tester, but all three having the same issue after been ultrasonic cleaned and a new carb kit installed seems odd. That’s why I’m starting to think it must be something to do with the cylinder, piston or seals? After removing the muffler and carb and blowing everything dry with an airline it does the exact same thing. Not even trying to start, but within three pulls it is ozzing fuel out of the exhaust port. It’s looking like I will have to strip in right back again and start from scratch.

  11. No you can’t with this particular model of saw. This is about my 6th rebuild and don’t think it’s a carb issue as all three are doing the exact same thing.
  12. Yes the same ones I use when I rebuild all my 026’s. This is the first for this fault. It seems strange how much fuel runs back out I’m the impulse line after the carb has been removed.
  13. #1 I have just rebuilt another 026, but this time round it has fuel oozing out of the exhaust whenever I try and pull it over. It has a new piston, rings and cylinder along with a new exhaust gasket. I've tried three different carburettors all with new carb kits, but exactly the same result. When I take off the carb the impulse line runs with fuel for nearly a couple of seconds. New coil fitted so it has a good spark. Could it be that the piston rings are not seated correctly? Any advice would be really helpful.
