It looks like a type of red algae to me. Someone probably collected it, had it stashed in their car door, parked in the car park and it fell out. I have lost hats and books and all sorts that way. It has probably been run over, carried off by a bird or animal or tidied up some other way. Wish you’d have smelled it, turned it over or picked it up!

You could be the Bob Ross of the tree world! 😁🌳🤭😎👍

I hope your children and grandchildren print out and bind your life story documented and shared here on Arbtalk. What a legacy for your family and a positive tome for international bookshelves and documentary festivals too.

You made it out there! Wonderful, wonderful news! Good Luck. Keep smiling. 🤩

Is this an edible puffball? If so - I am planning to slice it, fry it and eat it! -

That’s proper craftsmanship. Could be on the Heritage Crafts red list.

It may be useful to reflect on why this decision was made. Sorry to say that you lost your job most likely not based upon his wife’s distrust in you; but rather, a lack of trust in her husband. If you value your career - know your boundaries and keep to them - and make it crystal clear to others as well - in real life, and on social media (including AT) too. That way, you are less likely to come across those who cannot trust themselves, nor their significant others, who don’t trust them either.
-
Hope you didn’t advertise your spare stuff to sell on AT - because if you did - they could be reading this thread! It’s horrible having to worry about your stuff though: not just the idea of losing what you’ve worked hard for and what you need - but the intrusion and the worry of confrontation. At least you’ve got that forewarned gut feeling and can do something to protect your gear and home - using some of the ideas from the helpful advice given on your thread. Not all Travellers and Gypsies are as some claim though. Not all people with no fixed abode are out to get other folk’s stuff. It’s worth bearing in mind that as more and more people lose jobs and homes - more and more people will find themselves in positions they’d never have imagined themselves to be faced with before Covid19. Let’s not suppose that they will all turn to theft to survive as well.

Children's rope ladders and caving ladders are also fun - if there is a sturdy branch a little higher than the previously removed branches. Or just give him a good ol' fashioned leg up until he's grown bigger and older! You'll probably want to be nearby while he's climbing in the tree anyway - since the little one is only 3. Once he's heavier, you'll want to remove the ropes and slings anyway - to save harming the magnolia. (It really doesn't want holes in its trunk or branches).

I’m going to be 50 later this year, and I have been used to being quite slim, fit and healthy for most of my working life. But, I’ve had a few injuries and weaknesses in the last handful of years - including damage to my shoulders and back. I had no idea these could wear out so quickly already. Now I am putting on weight. I’m not a fella feller, so I’m wondering if maybe the female body wears out completely differently. I’m hoping that after I weaken a bit, that I will recover (after “the change” perhaps 😊) and then my body might catch up with the strength and fitness of men’s bodies, or other females’ bodies of a similar age? I’d really, really like to be fit at fifty - and be posting here in a few months - claiming just that. (Top tips welcome - Thank you).
