Hi there. Got out of Telecoms and London (underground) now working for a contractor at Gatwick.
Servicing an Orange airline.
Close to home and offers the spare time to continue my firewood and milling obsessions. Cheers.
Sounds good Bob, hope you enjoy it and best of luck

Climbing was not as straightforward. Mini site clearance. Tractor and trailer, 8t digger, tracked chipper and several saws in a back garden. I tied him to a stump and went climbing. He squeaked for a while and then protested further by tying himself in an atrocious knot with his lead and screaming for the RSPCA. Luckily my ropeman at this outfit is an experienced houndhusband and could sort him out. He got better sat a bit closer and eventually accepted his fate of having a fairly boring day. By late morning, I was round the front and he was apparently fine just watching them chip. A result, I'd say. He won't have to put up with much busier than that.
Sounds promising, I'm sure he'll get in the swing of it. My old boy Santi was great at putting himself somewhere safe where he could observe proceedings, and Ted would just settle next to the climbing bag when I left the ground.
Miss them!

You rotate the chain backwards?
I'm beginning to think I'm guilty of a terribly offensive act!

So it's more of an age thing then!
Joking aside a broken wrist will be debilitating, suppose you'll be on light duties for a while, 6 weeks is it?

Morning
Bit late, sorry Doug.
Bright when I was up at 5 letting the old dog out.
Went back for a rest and Lo it's bloody 8:30
It's Sunday my dear chap, 9am is absolutely acceptable.
Besides I couldn't possibly grumble as I was up at 6 to give wee Poppes her pills and then we went back to bed for a lie in as well!

I never pull the chain back, only forward.
Can I ask the reason?
I've never really thought about it, I just put the file in the gullet of the next cutter and pull it back to a comfy position. Hope I'm not committing a heinous act while sharpening!
-
Helps more as the eyes diminish, also it's quite nice when you draw the next cutter toward you to file it and see your marked cutter come up over the tip, you know you are nearly there.

Did I tell you guys about the time I took down a 600 foot redwood in the grounds of the Pentagon using only my Echo 2511?
I had F16’s air dropping fuel and oil.
It was an intense 2 hours, but I got it down safely, mainly self rigged.
18’ diameter at the stump.
No pics, unfortunately.
Surprised you didn't use a 150, haven't you heard it's lighter and more powerful...

Morning all.
Another morning when life feels pretty good!
Was a busy week with climbing mostly, great sleeps every night, body feels good and just an all round better frame of mind since finishing with work the other week.
The oh away to Paris so a quiet weekend planned, just me and the sidekick Cassie, fantastic.
Have a great weekend folks.

It definitely does take it out of you after a few hours lol.
Thanks again
A few hours! Spoken like a younger, fitter chap than I.
Personally I measure the tiredness in metres ascended rather than hours!

Definitely, hard work using arms, hip thrusting or footlocking. Foot ascender makes a big difference for me.
Surprised you didn't get to try using a foot ascender during the course.

I like the constant presence approach.
Secreted somewhere in the protected zone, with steady breath and acutely tuned ears for the first signs of an intruder. Patient, until the moment they tread reasonably close and you take the opportunity, erupting from your hide, no weapon except the element of surprise and a sheer will to give the bugger the fright of its life. As it disappears into the hedge in fear of auld nick himself, you stomp hard with your last few strides to emphasise your victory. You'll strut for a while but inevitably your mind will turn to the next engagement.
Granted it's time consuming but it does work..

Don't Scots join for the fighting?
We've an unwritten rule that we have to be nice to people when we're abroad so that we're distinguishable from other Brits, so once you've fought with everyone in your village/town/city the next step traditionally is soldiering.

So the green boxes are obviously correct letters but what do the yellow boxes represent?
