  1. Hi everyone, I’m looking to get started in the tree surgery/arborist industry. My background is in rope access (3yrs & 1500+hrs) & mountain guiding (6 years). I still plan to guide when work allows but I feel I’ve stalled in the rope access industry and am looking for a change. What chainsaw qualification is best to go and get? Can I work as a groundsman without a chainsaw ticket? Also, is a trailer ticket necessary? I’m just wondering if its best to have these before trying to get a start or are employers willing to put you through these? I’m based in Fort William in the highlands, happy to travel for work and stay away if necessary. Thanks for all your help ?
