  1. Job description Ligna is a small yet busy arboricultural consultancy business working in both commercial and domestic sectors. We undertake tree surveys and provide key reports for planning developments, working with architects, builders, land agents and local planning consultants to help shape the future for a greener build. In addition to the development projects, we work with block & estate managements, parish councils, schools and other clients to produce tree condition surveys and reports. Another smaller yet key area includes tree inspections and subsidence investigations for insurance, and mortgage reports. We have an exciting opportunity for an Arboricultural Consultant/Surveyor to join our team to help us expand the development and planning area of the business. We would be open to a newly qualified surveyor looking to gain experience or an experienced Consultant. The office is based in East Anglia, but work expands out of East of England to areas as far as the Midlands, Central, Southern and Northern areas. Working from home or hybrid would be expected. Company vehicle with excellent remuneration package. Key Responsibilities Arboricultural development surveys using appropriate equipment to produce quality reports including Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Tree Protection Schemes and providing feedback to the client if required. Tree Condition Reports (training provided if required) Mortgage / Insurance level surveys and reports Work together to grow the business by identifying and liaising with new clients, helping to build strong relationships Person Specification (Essential) Hold a recognised Arboricultural qualification at Level 3 or above A full driving licence Good knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practice Familiar with BS 5837 standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. About the Job We’re looking for a full-time Arboricultural Surveyor/Consultant to join the team. Your role will primarily be based around tree condition surveys and inspections, If successful, your duties will include the following tasks: · Undertake tree condition surveys and inspections, · Provide verbal and written advice on tree management. · Produce high-quality tree reports. · Submit CA and TPO works applications · Attend meetings and supervisions as a representative of Ligna Consultancy. · Help attract and build strong relationships with new (and existing) clients. · You will be required to stay away from home for some surveys (subsistence paid). · Occasionally, undertake the perilous and arduous journey to empty the office bin. Hi Guys, I understand that there is always going to be a lot of discussion and opinions based on wages, but I'd ask that you post them on a separate thread which is aimed at discussion of rates of pay. We decided to offer the £16-19k wage as unlike may of our industry peers, we are happy to accept applications from people with zero consultancy experience (most other similar job offers that we came across were offering between £18-20k for people with 1-2 years experience).   4. Hi 5 Shires and dumper, Thank you both for your comments. I am aware of the rates of experienced consultants. However, this roles is aimed at someone with little to no consultancy experience, who is looking to learn on the job, and have help with obtaining any relevant professional qualifications. Therefore, I believe the rates to be competitive. Pay will of course increase with experience - I have now made this clearer in the advert.

About the Job We’re looking for a full-time or part-time trainee Arboricultural Consultant to join our team. Although a basic knowledge of arboriculture is required, we are willing to accept candidates without any specific consultancy experience, as on the job training will be provided; we believe that passion, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn is more important than someone with years of experience. So we believe that this position would best suit an arborist looking to transition into consultancy or a student that has just completed their level 3 or level 4 in arboriculture. If selected, you’ll become the third member of our close-knit team. Owing to the small size of Ligna you will be expected to get involved in many aspects of the business, including site surveys, writing reports, and face-to-face client interaction.
