  1. I have a 34 deluxe serial no: 42226 does that mean 1974 or 1984 22nd week?
  2. Had a lady contact me regarding 10 smallish stumps for grinding. too far north for me, anyone up there on Here?
  3. It also makes branch walks so much better ?
  4. I learned by watching on one rope but only did my ticket this year on 2 ropes. Do I always use 2 rope and flip to move one....if I’m honest no I decide on a case by case Basis but I can promise using the two with the flip to use when disconnecting and moving one soon becomes second nature. It’s defo a pain in the tits though in a mega Ivy clad Tree if you can’t chuck your detached rope any distance through the next crotch for ivy.
  5. Sorry to be carried in the main vehicle while out doing general tree surgery & chipping
  6. Disconnect flip line and one anchor point leaving whatever line you can descend faster and easier on and abseil down in my case that would be with my zigzag
  7. Hi All, hope all are keeping well. Does anyone know where there’s a template or an example of the sort of risk assessment we are meant to carry in the vehicles with us?
  8. I know somehow who recently lost many tonnes of firewood when the shed was struck by lightening.......
  9. and doesn’t contain monkey ??
  10. I tend to stack all the cherry oak and beech to use next winter and burn ash straight away when I have it
  11. In a bucket? You mean in bits? ?
  12. Puller is ordered while the saw flounders on the service bench ?
  13. I particularly like your 056 it reminds me of my beautiful 032 with its sleek 70s ford Capri lines and I liked how in that era they made the fuel tank upright but the oil tank in the more familiar layout.
  14. Ash straight from the ground. beech if it’s seasoned is a good all rounder for me but my favourite is Mature hawthorn That seasoned a bit. least favourite is willow
  15. Could be worse I’ve got two Staffies and one is an expert at smashing me in the nuts with a rugby tackle any rugger bugger would be proud of
  16. Struggling to get it off, think I’ll order a puller. Don’t think this one has ever been removed ? when you look up that part number two types tend to come up, mine is the one on the right. been trying to stun it off with hammer and punch for the last 30 minutes ?
  17. Cheers buddy I will! Thank you
  18. Yeah I got a couple from an English guy who had just given up his collection
  19. Hi Pete thanks for the reply, it was more to see if there was another like me out there for potential swaps and parts to sell or seap each other that sort of thing. don't really think my little collection would be enough to have a stand at a show I only have about 13 or 14 with a couple more coming. Maybe in a few years
  20. Really struggling to get hold of a replacement flywheel for my 064 Ac eq it was a clunky starter but run well very powerful. stripped her down and found the flywheel looked like a junkies mouth that had been hit with a spade. I’ve tried the usual places like Stihl!! And ebay etc and come up blank! any guys selling parts or an old broken 064 that has a useable flywheel??
  21. Does anyone know if we have any here in the UK? I seen a guy in the US who has basically a Stihl museum but was wondering if there were any other Stihl chainsaw collectors here in the UK I have a little collection most are in the photo apart from a couple that are being worked on
  22. Echo leaf blowers are great but I like my saws to have very good build quality, so that rules out echo for me. agree about newer Stihl being weaker than they were a point well illustrated by my 064 up against the 660
  23. I wouldn’t bother with the 181 it’s a bit of a toy....chain details easy too. best thing about it is the extremely easy start system. I got a 181 cbe or whatever it is for snedding on the ground and it’s pretty weak. Find myself reaching for the spare 362 with shorter bar more often than not! Or my old 038
