  1. I use silver birch bark and strips of amazon cardboard. As for egg boxes, why not ask your neighbours/local fb group/fb Market Place. Ask people to keep a load for you and then nip round and collect them. My mate has loads of chickens and sells eggs and I keep all my boxes over winter for him to use as the chickens don't lay
  2. If they're getting bad reviews they'll not want to change theirs as some of the bad reviews will go to you. Quickest and most pain free option would be to change yours I reckon
  3. Ah jeez, dunno how I missed the Norwich bit! I'll wind my beak in haha
  4. Adding your location to your post might give you some more precise answers 🙂
  5. Do you mean your cutting the log or splitting it with an axe? If you're cutting then look at the canter lever style saw horses If you're splitting with an axe then a tyre round your log can be great
  6. You could advertise is here too - https://www.facebook.com/groups/225693761176817/?ref=share "UK free firewood and chip southern England" I'm up in Durham or I would have taken the offer
  7. Yep! It's not great, but it's not Poplar either

    Bearded Wood

A location to drop logs/chippings/brash off. I have the tools to process large pieces. I prefer logs of any type, but will take brash and chip if it allows me to get logs too. Liam from Stan Timmins and Sons has been using me a lot to help him clear his sites. I normally collect, but I'm not against people bringing them to me 😁 I've got a large drive which can be tipped on. It's about 5m2. Also a double gate straight into the garden.
  9. The norm is 2 cuts, this gives the slowest burn. I've done them with 3 and even 4 cuts before Douglas Fir is a great wood for them
  10. Split wood is always gonna dry quicker and better. No experience of a drier floor though
