Hi guys I joined because I am soon to be working for a large forestry contractor in the East Midlands and have been reading for advice and guidance as my background is in agriculture not forestry but thought a change would be good.

Any advice to make me a good groundy would be much appreciated!

Sena comms sets are Bluetooth 4.1 so I’m guessing that they won’t be compatible with these new Protos 4.2.

I believe that Bluetooth 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 should be compatible with each other but it will depend on how each manufacturer has configured their systems.  I am sure that someone will test this out in the coming months.

Will it be compatible with other Bluetooth devices? i.e.: Sena

The Protos BT-COM complies with Bluetooth specification 4.2 and supports a range of compatible profiles.  So in theory I don't see why it would not be able to link with another system.

Currently the only certified communication systems for use with Protos Integral are the Protos Bluetooth System (BT-COM) and 5 options from 3M Peltor.

Has any-one stretched to the protos specific bluetooth?

If so, what are your thoughts?

I'm just not up to shouting anymore.

The new Protos 4 user system (BT-COM) will be launching in the UK at the APF in a few weeks time.  If you are visiting, you would be very welcome on our stand (G16) to try them out.

  5. Hi all,  we're new to Arbtalk and look forward to chatting with everyone.

We are a distributor of arborist focussed brands including Pfanner and Protos and are happy to answer any questions or give advice.

It will mostly be Andrew using our login but in time we may start to register and use our own logins.  Would be good to know what you would all recommend.

We put our first post up earlier, see below.  Look forward to chatting with you all.

  6. Hello Arbtalk members.  We just wish to introduce you to Outwear Ltd, the new name in Arborist clothing, equipment and PPE distribution, having taken over the distribution of some truly outstanding brands from the team at Clark Forest.

Outwear was created due to a need to keep up with the demand for the brands and to support continued growth, by moving to a larger, more modern warehouse to focus purely on distribution.  The Clark Forest team continues as normal, by being one of Outwear’s excellent retailers.

We plan on becoming active members of Arbtalk and know how valued the forums are to the arborist community.  We hope to share news on our brands, product launches and other bits and pieces on a regular basis.  We also wish to join in conversations and be here to offer help.  Feedback on the brands is greatly appreciated and we look forward to meeting Arbtalk members at a number of shows and events, starting with the APF.

The brands that Outwear currently distribute are:

    ·         PFANNER

    ·         PROTOS

    ·         Woolpower

    ·         DISTEIN

    ·         cutandclimb

    ·         Log Jack

    ·         BAHCO Forestry Tools

    ·         d3 Tape

    ·         Veriga Crampons

Please take a look around our website www.outwearltd.co.uk to explore the brands that we look after and for detailed information on the products.

We look forward to chatting with you.
