Anyone used this bird call ID app? I was recommended it and installed it yesterday. It seems excellent. It's picked up a whole load of birds, a lot of which I didn't know we had around the garden. I set it recording this morning as I was hanging the washing out and it recognised 10 different species in 6 minutes.

Yes the Merlin app is really useful. I use it when I’m out and about.

  3. Go Japanese. Not German. Samurais come from Japan not Germany. Makita and Echo are both Japanese and both very good saws. Though I would bet the longevity of the echo being better than the Makita top handles. The echo I believe is also the smallest and lightest of them all.... 👍

  4. As above, Echo or otherwise battery but even the battery stuff is heavy and never as good as the echo 2511. there was a review in the most recent arb mag about 20 different top handle saws. You might find something useful in there....

Hi and thanks for all the positive info' as I have recently bought the Echo 2500T. Does anyone have any problem with the battery with one charge light remining? Basically I can't run the battery out and can't totally discharge it as it keeps cutting out, even if I am just revving it without trying to cut a limb, the on/off light blinks, then when i turn the saw on again and rev it for a couple of seconds, it stops and the on/off green light flashes. I can keep doing this until i am fed up with trying to get the last light to go out. So far haven't succeeded. Thanks for any thoughts.

There’s no need to kill the battery. When it’s low. You should recharge it. If it’s lithium it will prefer to be kept charged. Or so I’ve been told on many occasions.

Seeing large families  of long tailed tits just lately . Always on the fat balls . Sorry no pics can't compete with AJ ! 🙂  @AJStrees

Nice Stubby.  Quite often see the best birds on the feeders. Would like to see some waxwings and fieldfares some time this winter. But none round here at the moment.
