Yeah thick brown paper rolled up and/or scrunched is pretty much standard for small (not heavy af :D) machinery and spare parts delivery, with some level of combination with strong cardboard pieces. It is reusable and not only degradable but even compostable (be wary with these terms, for instance with plastic bags for dog poop degradable is not so eco friendly as it sounds, it just means the plastic breaks into smaller parts quicker but they still won't decompose into soil). And can be burned if you can't store it.

Yeah could be because I don't remember seeing the option there hehe. Fees can be complicated but if you are just making a transaction yourself just look at these charts, that tell you the current mempool size and you can base the fee amount of that so they go through in the next block and you won't overpay:

but the current mempool is empty (nothing compared to the congested mempool and super high fees [for BTC atleast, still cheap when compared to regular banking and payment world] we had couple months ago) so only 50 sat/B should be enough to get your tx into the next 1st block.

Hmm this is really nice I saw this vid before but didn't even notice you don't put the mill down ever, guess I wasn't paying attention...!

Is that cross brace fro connecting the mill to the 1st cut system available, what is holding the two together? Are there some kind of wheels mounted on the cross brace or is it just some parallel connectors in the aluminum profile of the cross brace?

I saw this before buying my mill but totally forgot about it

But it is only for 10mm slots so the mill is too small for that, but I am sure you could adapt it, make some kind of bushing for the screw that hold the wheel (goes through the wheel and screws into the T nut)

EDIT: could be used on a vertical mill on the 1st cut system too

Hm I see, English being my third language when I read shaving I imagine any bigger piece of wood made while using a hand tool (plane or spokeshave mostly) so I didn't know.

Definitely wood shavings, if you have them from a neighbour then it is a waste to burn them.

Here in Slovakia I would say its considered a luxury packing filler, most of the high end dog food & toys sellers use long curled up narrow wood shavings, like those you make if you rip cut with a cross-cut chain

Edit: and shavings like that don't make a mess, nobody from the vendors I have bought from puts on a warning about opening the packages outside.

Hello everyone! I purchased a Panther mill 42" from Rob recently and a new MS 661 C-M from my local Stihl dealer and ever since I have been enjoying the pleasures of milling my own lumber, which I find around me mostly urban clear cuts.

I can say I loved the mill ever since I saw it (mainly the innovation of the geared quick cut height adjustment) and when I tried it for the first time I was astounded by the smooth finish the GB Lo Pro bar together with the Stihl Lo Pro 3/8 PMX chain leaves with this mill. With the first cut system its like band saw cut quality.

I would like to propose another good little innovation, a removable (to clamp to the height adjustment rod above the thrust skid) complimentary thrust skid (just the bent part that touches the wood), for the cases when the top of the log being cut is wider then the part where the bar is cutting, so the mill rides - contacts the wood with the height adjustment rod (which is a really small area of contact and many times the edge of the wood is sharp so the wood is being damaged) and not the thrust skid. This would be a good improvement I am sure. I volunteer as a test subject

P.S.: I know it's a shame I wasted the big crotch boards possibility but I don't have the means to transfer a log so long and this was before I had the mill delivered also cut with my old tiny MS 170 saw It was a recent clear cut and the logs were to be picked up for grinding it to wood chips so I had to hurry.
