  1. already tried, I can sometimes get 1 rumble but nothing more
  2. I do not think that it will be the carb as it was replaced with brand new one, but I will check to see is the choke is closing.
  3. I have tested, and the spark plug is bone dry, any ideas what is causing this or how I can fix it
  4. It has good spark, I have not checked compression but it feels decent. I will test to see if fuel is getting to the sparkplug
  5. I have am having some issues with my 024. my friend gave it to me as he could not get it to start, I assumed it was a carb/fuel pipe issue as it would give a few rumbles if fuel is poured directly into carb. But after replacing the fuel pipe, impulse line, fuel filter, air filter and carb, I still cant get it to start. Any one have any tips/advice?
  6. but will it be that, since it did run (if only for a short time) after being rebuilt?
  7. well I just went and did that, and it did not help. could it be a different issue? The problem is, well it wont start. I recently replaced the fuel pipe/filter and cleaned the carb, then when I tryed to start it back up it started I revved it then it died (at the time I though i just flooded it) but now I can not get it to start at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated
  8. does anybody know how to reset the LA screw on a 024 carb? I know how to reset the other screws, but all the info I can find requires the saw to be running
  9. looking for wood chip again, PM me for details.
  10. It is from a 37, so not a commercial saw
  11. I kinda feel a bit insulted, I mean you are grouping together a rather large group of people, and well every group has idiots.
  12. In my experience just removing the ivy will, massively increase the amount of light that gets through. If after the ivy has been removed they are still not happy, then go in and do the reduction (much easier job without the ivy)

  14. I have an old husky 16" bar and chain that I don't need, it is in decent condition and the chain is decently sharp, I do not know the pitch, gauge. Collection from the Cheltenham area, or I can post (at cost)
  15. If it was either would it not have some fruit on in?
  16. A while back I posted about the idea of drying kindling, in the loft (warm, dry and has decent airflow). so now about a month on I can say that, it worked great. I now have some insanely dry kindling, and I am planning on moving the rest of my kindling up there to dry. the kindling I put up there was semi seasoned and the cleanest I could find (to avoid bringing bugs into my loft). So in conclusion I would recommend anyone who cuts their own firewood/kindling, to use this method. Obviously there are precautions that need to be taken, when doing this IE clean wood to keep out bugs, positioning boxes over load bearing walls.
  17. Thanks but I am up in the cotswolds so if would be a bit to far, but thanks anyway
  18. Its working now, that's all that matters
  19. Some kids play video games and talk to girls, I watch old films/TV and chop down trees
  20. Guess I should share, not that I have found a job in ARB yet. Got my first axe when I was 14 (**** thing from wilko) loved it and played with it everyday. At 15 I got my first chainsaw, it was a cruddy broken mcculloch (fixed it by shoving a pen in it). It wasn't much but it was enough to get me hooked. After dropping a log on that saw (and almost myself) I got a Stihl 181 for my 16th birthday. I am now 17 and running a 026 and currently rebuilding a 044.
