  1. Thanks for the offers guys will keep you in mind for next time. Ran it up to a guy about a mile up the road from me recommended by another tree sugeon in the end. They had it stripped the next day. Have taken them all the parts. Will update on their work when I get it back. Looked good tho. Had it in pieces and all cleaned up and ready for new bearings shafts belts anvils and blades and brake shoes!!! Gulp!!! Should be good as new when she's back!
  2. Found tree surgery insurance that they couldn't cover my tools as they had a massive list of security requirements that I couldn't meet without spending a fortune! But we're good when I just had Pli and eli with them but now I want it all with one company to save on time and effort it's seems v expencive
  3. Posted on another thread but realised it was quite old
  4. Spent about half hour talking to one company only to be told at the end they wouldn't insure me as I employed some one!!!! She said they would only cover tree surgeons that work on their own. Think it had something to do with the employer liability side of it but couldn't believe what I was hearing when she said it!
  5. Just had a quote from nfu just over 2k Pli eli and tools about 30k about 100k turnover but we do a lot of fencing so materials push that up. I thought it was quite a lot but the tool cover is what I'm most interested in. They say they covered any place any time. As long as forst entry then they will pay out. Other companies I looked at had loads of stipulations on types of locks and gates and security alarms or didn't cover tolls in the van etc
  6. Have bought a full overhaul kit for the flywheel bearings as they have given up on me yesterday. Have spent the last 2 hours trying to remove the first bearings and bearing holder with has resulted in lots of head rubbing and cursing! Which hasn't helped at all. Have done some reasearch and think this may be a job for a man with a bigger pry bar and bearing puller set. Can any one recommend any one near Gatwick area and any rough idea of labour costs for this??
  7. Fly wheel bearings whent on my tw150 yesterday. Just bought full overhaul bearing kit being all confident about striping it down! but struggling at the first hurdle to get the thing apart!! Just read this post and am now thinking I should have left it to a professional How much should I expect to be paying for this to be done?? And does any one know any where near Gatwick area they can recommend?
