Hi there.
I run a small business selling firewood etc just outside N/cle on Tyne.
Can anyone give me a price please to supply kiln dry logs. I've been buying this in from abroad and seen a 20% increase over the last 12 months. Ideally ( due to storage ) I could take approximately 20 X 2mts3 crates or equivalent in mesh bags.

The diameter size is from 8" to the sitca which you will see in the picture which is 20".
Im looking for about £35 per tonne.
I can get a manitou with bucket to load with but there will be a little bit to pay for the owner/driver.

That could be interesting. It burns well so let me know if you take it further.

I have between 40/50 tonne of wood for sale, most of it in the round and 95% of it seasoned.
I need to have it cleared before January for house building.
P.s. It's a mixture of hardwood and softwood.
Buyer collects from Newcastle upon Tyne.

Has anyone bought wood in from Russia ?
If Brexit has put twenty odd percent the Europe price, maybe the Russians have the answer ???

I bought a pallet in to try and have only sold 2 packs out of 96.
Don't put all your briquettes in one log basket.

Because I only buy in and sell on I need to a supplier who can offer a good product at a good price. I've only been doing this three years and been sold some crap stuff.
Storage is not an issue as I can just buy shipping containers, but i can't afford to have too much money tied up either.

The company who gave me the quote said the pallets are :-
0.85 x 1.17 x 2.0 RM

I ask for £25 per hr + £5 per hr for fuel for splitting hardwood.
I'll split approximately half tonne an hour ( ish ) so the customer ends up with £150 worth of logs per hour.

Hi all !
Has anyone bought crates of kiln dry in and if so what volume loose did you get ?
I bought a few in last season and a 2 cubic meter crate didn't give much more because the logs were small.

We get our hardwood from the Real firewood company...
See ad above.....
Ready cut, split and crated.
All you need to do is break the crate down to the size dumpy bag you're going to sell it in. ...
Where are you around Newcastle, boss maybe able to advise better. ....? ??
On the outskirts of Chopwell.

Thanks for your reply !
The delivery cost to Newcastle upon Tyne would make these too expensive. Thanks once again.

Thanks for your reply.
By the way of mesh bags I meant the one and two cubic meter vented bags.
I understand where your coming from about British suppliers and I would prefer to buy all my supplies locally however I operate on small profit margins so have to shop with cheapest.
The profit on the imported stuff is still about 25% so I guess I'm asking the impossible for someone to offer consistent supplies at a good price.
I sell 50 to 60 cube per month of barn stored and kiln dried if anyone is interested in giving me a price.
