  1. We have a job vacancy for a subcontracted Maintenance Landscaper / Brushcutter Operative in Weston / Avonmouth area. The job is to assist an existing team with vegetation clearance on verges etc. Duties will be to clear weeds and long grass using a hand held brushcutter / strimmer. Previous gardening or maintenance landscaping experience and previous use of brushcutter cutters needed. A brush cutter or strimmer ticket is required though could be provided. Duration: 3 to 4 weeks in April, June and September Working hours: 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Accommodation could be provided if necessary Good Rates of Pay: PM for more details

We are looking for a qualified and motivated brushcutter / strimmer operative for part time work in the Avonmouth area, the work will be approximately 2 weeks every month throughout the growing season. Immediate start. This will suit a self employed person looking for extra work. In addition we may have chainsaw work available also. This work will continue in 2022.   3. We are looking for a competent lead climber for nationwide utility contract work, joining a busy and friendly team undertaking various tasks. The work is varied from large dismantles, to hedgerow removals to grass and scrub clearance. Accommodation and overnight subs provided. This will initially be a minimum 3 month position though will most likely extend beyond that. Our current works are in the Bridgwater, Somerset area, and Bridgend, South Wales area, though our company is based in west Northumberland and we also have work in the north east also, so this would be ideal for someone based in Northumberland and happy to work away from home. We currently operate with 11 days on and 3 days off. Ideally 5+ years climbing experience - competent and comfortable with rigging and large dismantles Relevant NPTC's, and first aid essential. Team leading skills essential Own climbing kit, we can provide all saws/ rigging kit etc. Drivers license and trailer license ideally. 3 penalty points maximum. CSCS, EMSS helpful though could be provided. BESC, NG persons, SSSTS, utility arb tickets are helpful though could be provided. Please private message for more details or to express interest

  5. Yeah its just sawdust, normally would give it a blow off but took it straight out of my kit when I saw the cracks!

  7. Here's some images of my Petzl ZigZag Mk2 which has three individual cracks on the chainlinks; one each end of the first link and one on the second link. Its had relatively low use and I've no recollection of putting it under side loading..
  8. We are looking for 2 qualified chainsaw / brush-cutter operatives who hold current BESC and NG persons tickets. The candidates must be experienced, hardworking and responsible, over 25 years of age and with a clean driving licence. The work is in the South Wales area, and is for a minimum of 2 weeks.   9. Experienced, hardworking, reliable and responsible person required to join our teams in South Wales. CS30, 31, 38 (aerial rescue), Brushcutter & Chipper tickets, clean driving licence as a minimum. Person must be over 25 years in age. Work would be for a period of 2 months minimum, possibly extending to 3 or 4 months. Works entail, hedge cutting and removal, scrub clearance, tree felling, tree pruning. Work will be undertaken in two week blocks, Monday through to Thursday (working one weekend) then 3 days off, then back for a further two weeks and so on. Accommodation may be provided.   10. Thanks David, yes it has a similar shape -I will find out if they were ever red in colour. The trees were imported from Denmark, I'll find out if any woodchip has been used also. Cheers
  11. What is this fungus - I am told that a person has recently planted a 'instant' beech hedge, and a few months later this has popped up all the way along beneath the trees! Looks a little like jelly ear, but has a white almost scaly coat on the bottom side. the largest on photographed measure about 40mm across. Any ideas?
