I have a similar fungus on an ash tree that has been reduced around 6-8 years ago. Any advice welcomed.

Quick update on the oil filled 550xp petrol chamber. Removed the carb the other day and gave it a good clean out, reinstalled it then after a short run it was back to normal, thank goodness. Lesson learnt, don't lend out saws to numpties !

Ive not pulled the carb out yet as was hoping not to do this..possibly a New Years job top the list. I would have thought that with sufficient flushing an running it would have gotten rid of the oil ?

my 550 wouldn't last more than around 15 seconds before the power faded and then died. sometimes dies at full revs too..

thanks for feedback gary, I've also started the saw and let it idle for 5-10 mins one its started. It seems to idle away just fine. I do this to allow the autotune to do its stuff...

I have a 550xpg mk 2 and recently leant it to a friend. The machine was filled wrongly with chainsaw oil into the petrol, I don't know how long it was in the wrong chamber before it was decanted ! After he realised his error the petrol chamber was cleaned out several times with petrol. The saw still wasn't running well when I received it back. It seems to start not too badly and almost revs to full revs. Doesn't seem to have the final push of torque and can also die instantly. I've changed the fuel filter , new plug and cleaned the petrol tank out with several fills of petrol and lastly the air filter is clean...but the saw is still acting up. Is there anything else I should clean or is there anything else to help get her back to normal ??

Im looking to get a trailer for a TW230VTR diesel and trying to keep the trailer small. Currently looking at an Ifor Williams GH94BT (plant trailer) which is marginally to small but as the chipper bucket is raised should get away with it. Does anyone use this trailer to tow their chipper about ?

Looking at purchasing a new chipper and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on how the new 230DHB chippers perform. My concern is that they are only 25HP as opposed to the old 35hp machines ? Any help greatly appreciated

The bark is coming off one of our Scots pine trees and wondered if anyone knows what may be the cause and if it is dangerous to the tree health. It looks s though beetles are attacking it. Any help greatly appreciated. elfie

What would be the best spray to kill these aphids on a smaller tree ?

Paul - Many thanks for that, the trees are however large and will have to sit it out. I went along tonight and collected a few of the Aphids. There were not as many on the tree as per last night, maybe its the cold wet weather ?? Picture attached.

Southeast tree care - They do look like these however ours are all black...will posts pics tonight ! Paul - Yes the winter was generally mild with very little skiing and low temperatures (not normal) What is the long term effect of these Aphids. Do they damage the Spruce trees ?

Have a client who has several spruce trees along the back of his garden boundary. There are thousands of small aphids across the spruce trees and also the adjacent fence. Don't have a picture of them yet however the Aphids are approx 5mm in size / have a tear shaped body and have 6 legs. I've never seen such an infestation of aphids before. does anyone have any ideas or encountered such an issue. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Any help greatly appreciated

It was warm the first time the saw wouldn't start however on the the second occasion it wasn't warm.... The saw was replaced for a new saw same model.

Received the saw back last Wednesday and used it for a job on Saturday and the same problem occurred after a period of time..... it is going back to online shop again. I have request either money back or a new saw as I cant operate with intermittent equipment with less than 10 hrs on it. They say they have to inspect before they can make a decision.

The shop have said it is the autotune chip which requires to have the latest software installed. Don't quite understand why this should be the case....husqvarna selling saws which don't operate on the original software ! Will let you know how it goes when I get the saw back.
