  1. I reckon that pic is in keeping with it having ADB
  2. Morning all, Lovely blue sky here with a frost. My face caught the sun quite a bit yesterday, so out with the factor 50 today.
  3. Morning all, Lovely blue sky here, forecast good. It said that yesterday but we had an almighty hailstorm, but fortunately only when we were packing up.
  4. I bought a new one in 2015, one of the first of the new shape, 145BHP. Very happy with it and if I had to replace it would have the same again, or a heavier duty one. C section chassis means none of the condensation induced rust you gets with transits etc. Some people say IVECO = It vibrates and everything comes off. While this may be true for some minor trim items it does not apply to the mechanics. Just got back from a week's holiday in southern Italy and there are loads of 25+ year old ones on the roads. The Grafter may boast a good turning circle but the Daily is pretty good on that score, and much better than my previous LDV Convoy (please don't laugh, it was a reliable plodder). Needless to say helper springs are a must with a full chip box.
  5. Absolutely agree with that. Rope every time if on doubt, wedges can only achieve so much.
  6. Morning all, Dry day here. Checked the three conifers for birds yesterday, in a heavy hail storm. Taking them down today. Seize the weather while it lets us.
  7. You can't beat the old axiom: "There be old tree surgeons and there be bold tree surgeons, but there be no bold old tree surgeons". Also, I am old and lazy, so I use my MEWP whenever I can.
  8. Morning all, Was in southern Italy last week, came back yesterday. Wouldn't have got much done work wise if I was here by the sound of things. Just had a brief snow flurry an hour ago, all gone now. Log processing today and next three days look better. I feel so sorry for the local farmers who can't get the slurry stores emptied out on to the land yet etc.
  9. Morning all, Drizzle and damp here. Getting ready for holiday so no outside work today😀
  10. Morning all, Dry here for the day. Going to dismantle and fell a conifer today. Plus side is that it is a very open branch pattern, so I can see there are no birds. Down side is it is one of those itchy ones that always get in your shirt asap.
  11. A few years ago I was climbing and dismantling a willow over a sheer drop. All went ok until I came down, unclipped from the ropes and promptly tripped on some stone sets and chipped a corner off my patella. No needed for hospital/x-ray - you could feel the loose bit. A dreaded cringeury of mine is the risk I mistake the roll on Deepheat for my roll on anti perspirant. Ouch.
  12. Morning all, Drizzle drizzle and rain rain here. Hoping to get a couple of days work in before going on holiday at end of the week, but forecast not looking favourable for a fair weather tree surgeon.
  13. Morning all, About to toast the hot cross buns for late breakfast. Yummy.
  14. Morning all, Dry morning then rean later. Another morning shaving epicormics it is then.
