  1. Hi all, I'm looking to purchase 5 - 7 artic loads of ash, beach or sycamore firewood in Ireland. If anyone can recommend any harvesting company that sells such loads in Ireland. Not interested in first thinning's, looking for medium to large lengths if possible. Thanks

  3. Yes it's a bulker load? I'll be totally honest I don't go by the cube, I just fill until the trailer is full. Roughly speaking now how many 8 x 4 loads would you have from 57 m3 or rough estimate of the profit that could be made from the price quoted. Please check my firewood album, the picture I have uploaded is my usual 8 x 4 trailer load.
  4. I'm looking for feedback regarding a proposal that was passed my way today. Long story short, I've been offered regular beach & ash firewood. 57 cubic meters of either specie. The timber is already split(firewood processor) and is unseasoned, for £3500 and delivery roughly £300 - £350. Would be selling the firewood £100 - £120 per 8 x 4 trailer. At the price quoted would this leave me room to make some extra cash or not worth the hardship. Would appreciate all opinions from experienced producers.
  5. Hi Mike, your best bet would be calling Canopy land use in England. I believe they provide hurley sticks to Ireland and looks ok. maybe others on this would know more about them.
  6. To all Forestry workers & Woodland owners. I'm scheduled to be travelling to the UK during the first week of September to start felling ash for hurley making. If your considering thinning ash this season get in touch & we will pay the best possible prices for your ash. Ash with a DBH from 25 - 50 cm is the preferred range, we only require the bottom 1.3 meters of the tree, which must be clean & straight. We will fell them ourselves as we will be cutting into the roots. Please contact for any more information required.
