    John is right. You only ever pay tax on the profit.

    Does anyone know of a good and well priced online supplier of kiln dried logs, 30cm or less, for a wood burning stove? Or a london based supplier?

    Certainly make sure you don't pay tax on the gross. That would be an expensive mistake.
