  1. Bizarro! I had a tracked 25 hp single roller Timberwolf back in the day. It was crap.
  2. Thanks for chiming in. The gas engineer comparison falls down when you realise that the consequences of a poor gas fitter can be your family dying of carbon monoxide poisoning or being blown up. A bad tree surgeon will leave you with a badly pruned tree (that’ll probably grow back)
  3. That is a tale of woe and then some. I ran a Rayco 25 and now a 35, never had any issues as serious as those.
  4. Perhaps, or perhaps it’s just a wasted year or two using something that’s just delaying you getting the right machine.
  5. Watching IDS eating his own bogeys was 1000x worse
  6. Chipping branches without a chipper.
  7. Doesn’t ascending on SRT double the pull on the (uninspected) anchor point compared to drt?
  8. Isn’t that what we do anyway? Prize money being the price of the job?
  9. Drag it to the bank and use a telehandler to lift it out of the water? Avoid damaging the delicate banks like that. Crane on DHs vid looked sweet though.
  10. Ok, I’m a bit hard of thinking, but your second paragraph says on a non srt system (ie. drt) you can use a number of different ways to avoid using two lines, as long as you record it on your RA.
  11. So if you’re climbing with a zz/Prussia/blake’s on a double rope system, and a lanyard for another attachément point when cutting you’re ok?
  12. No probs, Sunday night. I’m sure this’ll run for a bit anyway. Thanks for the reply.
  13. Ok thanks, then in reality (and I know you mentioned it earlier) there will be three points of attachment a lot of the time. Were the AA consulted about this and did the AA go along with it?
  14. No Paul it doesn’t help. Are you saying that at all times, whilst moving around the tree there should be two points of attachment?
  15. I wouldn’t worry about it, they’ll get new leaders very quickly, and in that position they will not last more than 15/20 years before they have to come out.
  16. Toxic people get a bad press. Anyway maybe you’re the toxic one (whatever that means)
  17. Professional cage fighter you say? How’s that working out for him if he’s dossing on an industrial estate?
