  1. I was beginning to worry you were some kind of Rain-man, good to see you back with the rest of us. Happy Birthday as well!
  2. Wordle 1,041 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨🟩🟨 🟨⬜🟨🟩🟨 ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Standard.
  3. Got any photos? What sort of trees were they?
  4. Yes, I think you’re right, he was. I do think that in the great scheme of things 20 quid here or there will not sway me to go any further than I have to to get rid of wood. Getting back to the job in the shortest possible time to get it finished is my priority. I wouldn’t consider 15 minutes of my time worth 20 quid (diesel and tyres aside)
  5. Equal distance away from EVERY job you do?
  6. Tell him he can drop it but you won’t pay. He’ll be happy just to get rid.
  7. Wordle 1040 5/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟩🟨⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 4 yesterday, 5 today, more mediocrity, but no shame in that.
  8. Because, whether you like it or not, English patriotism has been hijacked by racism. I cannot explain why, there is possibly a link to England football fans, all I can say is it’s not the same in France. Back in 2002 I (as an England fan) managed to convince the wife to holiday in Thailand (Koh Samui) during the World Cup, which just happened to be in a similar time zone to Korea/Japan. We go to the big tourist pub to watch England v Argentina, packed with England fans and the atmosphere is very nasty and unpleasant, big tattooed bruisers hurling abuse and creating an unsafe environment, some Thai bloke on a moped was lucky to escape a hiding just by riding past the pub wearing an Argentina shirt. Beckham penalty, England win, big sigh of relief. 2 nights before it’s Ireland against Germany, pub packed with Irish, singing and in good humour all night, despite Ireland losing till the last minute, when Robbie Keane gets a late equaliser, cue joyous pandemonium. I didn’t feel unsafe for me or the wife the whole evening. It opened my eyes a bit the contrast between the two nights. I suspect the sort of ‘patriots’ in the pub for the England game are the same sort on that march. I hear what people are saying about the Hamas march etc. But let’s not paint the St George’s March as a real expression of English national pride.
  9. Apparently yes, Seattle police commissioner did a piece to camera about it later in the Twitter thread.
  10. I suppose it makes sense to be sure, it’s in no one’s interests that he survives, especially badly injured, no point in saving bullets for a rainy day. He had a gun and was about to use it.
  11. Wordle 1,038 6/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜🟩⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟨🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Shoulda stayed in bed.
