I like that Si

Nice and definitely catches the character of the chosen species, good use of colour on the bulldog
-
I'd leave it as it will change colour as it weathers over time

Nice Si

Run a straight edge across the top of that bar, it does appear to have adopted in it, worth a try as you have done everything else ....

Nice one Ian
Thanks Ian, carved at a country show last saturday, ran out of time so finished it today.

That's a great carving. Spooky.
Cheers Mark, many thanks, watch out for the Grim Reaper, coming soon

Bloody amazing carving work - an it would lend itself to illumination after dark with LED or driven lighting for movement or a lava lamp hidden inside K
Thanks Khriss, nice of you to say so, there are a number of interested buyers all have mentioned lights of some description. I will take a couple of pics tonight with the carving illuminated by my garden light and see how it looks
Thanks again

Thanks very much, it's had so much interest I'm thinking of starting on another one...

Yep, a trip to IKEA and then there will be a coloured light..... post the pic early next week
-
Now there's an idea.....

Pretty cool, reminds me of something out of lord of the rings
Hi Steve, yes i had Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings stuff in my head, not sure it will sell, but i like it anyway.
-
I'm liking that a lot...
Cheers Sloth, i liked carving it, it was carved from a very old piece of Oak which had been under cover for 10 years, it had cracked naturally and the cracks should add to the affect of the carving when i oil it
-
Carved this Spirit of the woods this week, not carved to order , just wanted to carve something like this which has been in my head a while....... i enjoyed every second of it knowing that it didnt matter where i was going with my thoughts. Needs dome oil etc and the base needs some more work which i will finish tomorrow.
This type of carving is not everyones cup of tea but it will attract attention at the shows i hope.
Grim Reaper next ....

Just wanted to share this post I've put in stolen equipment forum. I'm sure you guys all know the unfortunate victim and will keep your eyes open if any of his stuff surfaces.
I follow Simon on Facebook just to admire the amazing work he does, but I'm sure some of the contributors in here probably know him personally.

Outstanding tribute Dave, I have retired from the fire service after 30 yrs and fully understand how the carving will be received by all who view it, with total respect for such a reflective memorial piece.

Thats good work ( Had a lot of Alsations ) K
Thank you Khriss, very much appreciated

There was a lot of tears when they saw the carving, that Yemen that they liked the carving without them having to say anything..... I'm pleased with the result
