Asking about what you were doing with the wood was sinister though. Mission creep. Unless he suspects the timber is stolen or something.

It's normally if you selling you could be bound by tacho and also insurance for higher rewards as you selling and then delivery so tacho would be needed to the law is a joke in this country

Hi my name is Simon Jackson and I am the Managing Director of Saturn Machine Knives Ltd the home of Rotatech wood chipper blades, both are the same company but Rotatech is the brand and we have been manufacturing wood chipper blades in Sheffield since 2002.

So what constitutes a spurious wood chipper blade?

A spurious wood chipper blade is a blade that is not manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the wood chipper or is not produced to the same specifications as the OEM blade. These blades may be sold by third-party manufacturers as a replacement for the original blade, but they may not meet the same standards for quality, durability, and safety.

There are several factors that can contribute to a blade being considered spurious, including:

    Material quality:

The blade may be made from inferior materials that are not as strong or durable as those used in the OEM blade.

    Manufacturing process:

The blade may not be manufactured using the same processes and techniques as the OEM blade, which can lead to variations in quality and performance.

    Design specifications:

The blade may not be designed to the same specifications as the OEM blade, which can affect its performance and safety.

    Quality control:

The manufacturer may not have the same level of quality control measures in place as the OEM, which can result in defects or inconsistencies in the blade.

Using a spurious wood chipper blade can be dangerous as it may break or wear out more quickly than the OEM blade, leading to injury or damage to the chipper. It is important to use only OEM or high-quality replacement blades that meet the same specifications and standards as the original blade.

If you have any questions regarding Rotatech wood chipper blades I would like to answer them directly, I have extensive experience within the machine knife industry manufacturing wood chipper blades and Sawmill blades for over two decades. When deciding to buy your blades from a non OEM company ask the question are these blades made to the same OEM or High-Quality specifications.

    Thank you.

Hi I got a forst st6 and was wondering if the is only OEM or rotatec

  3. Thanks spud, I've never heard of an 880 ported or modded either.

My 261 & 661 are both mtronic, and my 461 is only two weeks old.

I run all my work saws on motomix/aspen now.

Is a 461 any good for porting? Or do I have to buy another saw just to port?

  4. If its an Alko drum with a sealed bearing in it, they are fairly unique to Alko, however your bearing supplier will be able to cross reference to a hub kit, I forget what the code is. I think the kits are about £20+vat a side. you'll need a press to get the bearing out they are in there good, otherwise you'll be giving the drum a good whacking it could do without. Pete's right id go with getting them done whilst your earning money, and having the shoes and cables looked at is a good call too. I'd always recommend having cables done if shoes are replaced, its not if there're expensive. Hope this helps.

Thanks m8 will look in to it

  5. Why not book it in and have them do it? £40 per side isn't a great deal and you could be out earning while you spend. I'd budget for a brake reline while hub us off and think on a couple of cables just in case they are knackered too. I always found that getting a job done like that more fun done by someone else while I earnt the money to pay for it!

Good plan Pete will get a quote

  6. Hi guys had a quote off gm Ballmer my local dealer for greenmech and they are asking 40 per wheel bearing

I have in the past changed normal trailer bearings and the normally only cost between 10 and 20 each do any one know of the size because I would have to dismantle to get part number ECT and have to wait for them to get them in stock so hoping that someone has taken this route before

  7. Saw your ad. Really needs more pictures and details, including bar and chain. As noted above, compression test and picture of the piston will really help. Good luck with the sale.

    Scott

hi m8 I haven't got a comp tester but I can tell you that you have to use the decomp cable as the comp is so good

  8. great fight everyone thought that aj was gonna smash klitchko early rounds but as I said he wasn't the right klitchko when he faught fury and I was right both good fighter just luck aj didn't meet klitchko 10 years ago

  9. Yes the 4' (actually 47") bar is only in Duromatic but there is a 59" Rollomatic and pictures can sometimes be funny on perspective. That bar would add a bit to the value if present.

The problem with the Duromatic when milling is that it takes power from the saw and is tricky to keep the tension right on the long cuts as things warm up but you have to start a bit slacker so it all ends up too slack. I used to use one (until it got stolen) and it was OK but I did tend to end up pouring oil on the tip periodically down the cut to get it to stay a bit cooler :001_smile:

    Alec

great advice alec I'm hoping to sell a couple bits of equipment to buy a new large saw for ringing up

  10. Some good info here. Agree that 300-350 sounds reasonable. Chain brake should help.

FYI - good OEM cylinders and pistons are difficult to come by and quite expensive for NOS, so if you want strong money for it, do a compression test and pull the muffler off to take pictures of the piston.

    Good luck

    will take some tomorrow

  11. Can't see from the picture but is that a Duromatic bar or sprocket nosed?

    Is there a chainbrake fitted?

Is the manual oiler present and correct?

Main use is milling, but it's always good to be able to use them for stumping or ringing up big stuff if you have one. For this you want the chainbrake so it adds a bit to value.

If it's a Duromatic bar then the bar and chain add no real value over the powerhead alone.

If it has the oiler present and working, all's good. If it doesn't it will ask questions about whether it is rebuilt on a TS760 case or is actually an 051 (the top covers are interchangeable). Seeing the location of the fuel and oiler caps would also be handy to confirm on this, and also that the top cover hasn't been swapped with an 075.

These all affect the value, as for example does whether it's actually running?

    Alec

all runs great m8 yep chain brake and oiler work fine bar isn a sprocket bar I have a new 36 inch oragon bar chain

never used to be sold with this machine

  12. Well grab the owner quick, explain what's happened and he'll sort out the bees.

**** happens. I'm sure he'll understand, maybe be happy to get a new brood.
