  1. yes would you like some:lol:

The problem is the vast volume of slabwood produced, I give it away most of the time but i discourage public collection so i then end up delivering bulk loads to here and there. The majority of slabwood goes to estates that have large biomass setups where they have it chipped. The problem here is theres too much additional handling = cost

Having it chipped as it leaves the mill is much more economic/efficient and means i can directly supply the chip for next to nowt, and we're due a kiln upgrade- why not fuel it with chip.

Im really impressed by the figures from gdh. its a goer

i would be keen to buy lorry loads of slabwood ,depending on distance(haulage)and price,i take it is moslly spuce you are milling?

  2. Interesting, sorry to hear of a death but not being morbid but would be interesting to know more details.

How come in large tree felling including fc sites I believe it's exeptable if not encouraged to have a wedge man present to assist in the felling of the trees?

Would also like to see a winch that can carry 60m of cable to keep it out the danger zone which for most of this site would have ment placing it off site.

One thing that makes our working a bit safer and far more efficient is being in open Mike contact so can talk through as working so everyone can be aware of what is going on.

  3. Yes. He left the wood itself. When the crane boom produces the full length and puts it at an angle, it can not raise more than 150-200 Kg. We could not tie up large chunks to dip them into the road. Big crane in this place can not pass. Transporting cargo by crane takes time. We have established a unit on the hook.

Assistant lowered down the load by means of a braking device. It was faster and less risky. Sorry for my English)

your english is better than a few on here.well done
