  3. Strongly suggest checking out Jobber It's great would be an understatement http://www.getjobber.com
  4. Burley Boys Tree service We are on the north shore. http://www.burleyboys.com
  5. There is pretty steady year round work in vancouver yes. So long as it doesn't snow too much in the city, we work all winter. Can't help you with your original question though sorry... If you get a visa sorted look us up though, we're always busy. S.
  6. I would take a look at Jobber. It offers way more in the way of scheduling and has detailed reports. And it's cheaper. I have been using it for almost a year and can't imagine not having it. Support is very good, they are available to answer any questions and have a weekly webinar that can be very helpful. S.
  7. Jobber Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Our call rate has been nuts this year. We are averaging 30 a day.... Some days over 50! If you know any skilled guys who want to work in Vancouver, Canada tons of work here!
  9. The lmo fee just went up to $1000 today. We have done several for many guys. It's a bit of a process but we continue to do it.
  10. I have been using jobber for the last 4 months and I love it. They are a Canadian based company, but I am sure you can adjust it for UK tax rates and £'s ect. The support is very good. Way exceeding expectations. Free 30 day trial to check it out
  11. What part of Canada are you hoping to go to?
  12. Still lots of work in vancouver. Get in touch with Burley Boys. They are on the north shore
  13. Check out jobber. Free month trial, I can't imagine what I did without it http://www.getjobber.com
  14. When are you going to be this way Paddy? Send a CV to us at Burley Boys if your Vancouver bound!
  15. Odd the way the Biner for your 3rd pulley sits between the 1st block and it's sling... A double shoved pulley would be ideal, but yes, looks correct to me.
  16. I can't really tell from the pics but it doesn't look like there is much of a root plate in the air... With the stem that far over it is not likely that you'll stand it back up. I would be using a crane for sure. (Not to shamelessly plug my website...) but I have a log weight calculator on it. (Scroll down on the main page, it's on the left) http://www.burleyboys.com It is quite accurate. I usually add 10% for a safety margin, then also add weight for limbs. (Then work within the cranes SWL) That will give you an idea of the size / type of crane you'd need. If the crab can lift 5,000 lbs, and the calc gives you 4,600 lbs. get a bigger crane.... Good luck
  17. You can have the rest of your rope in a rope bag, tie it to the line so it's suspended off the ground, using its weight to keep the line taught enough to advance the foot ascender...
  18. There is also a pretty good looking us based cloud software called arborgold. Check it out
  19. Give the Burley Boys a call in North Van. When are you coming out?
