Thankyou for reply tbh that is just the sort of answer I was after I would really like to do it as I find it so interesting and I already have more than enough of the nptc certification to cover me on the practical side so I will find a number and ring up and get it sorted / find out when the course runs and so on

The normal thing I guess been working in the industry a good while now and have a lot of tickets from brush cutter to chainsaw from rope and harness I'm looking to do a qualification more to the theory side of the industry just to better my knowledge and also my work has told me they want to put me through some thing looked at the rfs Course and looks great just think it might be abit to in depth for me yet is their anything people recommend as a good course to start with on this side of things I have tried to research on the internet but nothing is very clear , thanks in advance

you have got to enjoy what you do,thats the main thing.
Hopefully the farm is going to drag the beech tree into the feild for me.
Your stuff looks great really really nice, I would love to be doing that must be nice to able to appreciate timber instead of chipping it and ringing it fit logs haha

It's as I thought really then would need to do milling and something else as well, I'm not planning on dropping my job to go and set up milling full time just to clear that up ha ha it's just something I would really like to get in to and oww the log in the stream sounds interesting would like to see some pics of how you deal with it , cheers all !

Is their many people out their making a living from pretty much just milling say with a decent portable mill that can be taken pretty much anywhere just interested to know really , thanks

All I know is cheap is no cheerful when it comes down to winch components to much to go wrong

Thanks and I haven't been able to get close enough to it it's in a neighbours garden and I have seen a couple around I really like them but I'm unsure what they are and I carnt find them in my id book , cheers

Thanks for that I was pretty sure the first one was a Rowan but it's the second I'm not sure of ,I found it growing on a old snapped out limb of a big old oak tree I climb quite often , cheers

Hi was wondering if any one could tell me what this is and if it has any relation to the tree roots I know about about bracket fungi but yet to learn about fungi on the ground and affects on tree roots thanks
